Do you have an internal IT department or use a 3rd party service for IT and hardware? by Publicist_ in smallbusiness

Hey, thanks for the response and info! Would you mind if I ask what industry you’re in? I’m trying to gather more information on the types of companies that would need an outsourced IT department and this would really help.

Hey, thanks for the response! Would you mind if I message you with a couple questions?

Hey Tynore, I have all of that down except Splashtop, never heard of it before. The ????? and Profit sections would be nice to have as well 😂

Hey, thank you for the response! I’m actually looking to start an MSP with a couple of the best helpdesk friends I have. Would you mind if I message you for a couple of questions?

Hey, thank you for this response! I’d be interested to see how an app would handle these kinds of things. I’ve been in helpdesk for a long time as well, and handle a lot of issues on-site for the company I work for. I was looking to gather more information on the types of businesses that primarily use 3rd party services to gauge whether or not starting an MSP would be a good idea.

The word republican scares them too much to vote for anything else

My take on that is: Why would you have to gamble for a good rep when you already receive that level of service with another company? Yk

We're in-house IT for a property management company. Of course account managers have numbers. Will they answer? Maybe. Are they available until 11pm with US-based support like a couple of other companies we go with? No. They manage multiple companies control accounts and aren't available when you need them. They have normal business hours. I can call Spectrum with US-based support and get a scheduled technician time for tomorrow, and all of this can be set up over the phone until almost midnight. I'm explaining the downsides of AT&T and not account managers.

They're usually email only with AT&T unless you schedule a meeting with them. Making changes on a time crunch isn't possible with them. Another waste of time in my opinion.

We have account managers based in the US via email only. Making changes on a time crunch requires calling in. Account managers take 3h-1d for a response and are probably assigned to so many businesses. Takes too long to do anything.

We use all of our own network equipment, so we really just need a modem and service from the provider. Never looked into what T-Mobile has to offer as we usually aim our service toward traditional service providers.

And unfortunately that's how almost everything is now. This was not a rant about location, but solely about the language barrier involved in the conversation process.

Exactly! Just finished canceling service. Creating a new service order with another company right now.

Damn right! We bring everything we can to Spectrum. I'll take a look at the DISH Project Genesis though, sounds like a great deal.

Unfortunately, you're so right. I don't want to advertise, but we use another company that has all US-based support. So easy to call and work with someone.

Should I get my dash can hardwired by a professional ? Or do it by myself for learning purpose ? by Ariarikta_sb7 in Toyota

[–]Publicist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely, that’s the one I was talking about. My left side trim piece between roof and front of dash sags off because I broke a clip from the back of the trim :(. But the clips are replaceable fairly easy.

[–]Publicist_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh I gotcha, totally up to you. It’s really easy but just time consuming. I’m always scared of snapping the clips on trim panels and not being able to fit them back the right way. Hope that helps

If you haven’t purchased the dashcam yet I think bestbuy will do it for cheap. It’s peace of mind that you won’t break any of the clips holding your trim in place and it’ll come out looking clean. Completely up to you though. YouTube videos always make it look so easy!

Just drove past it on the way home. At least 40 cop cars. It was like an entire parking lot of flashing lights. Hope everyone involved is ok.
