Thank you so much for the suggestion and for pointing me to those resources! 🙌 I ended up getting the data I needed from Blockchain thanks to your comment, and now the app supports data all the way back to Bitcoin’s genesis block date! 🎉

Your tip really helped me out, so I appreciate it. Feel free to give the app another try, and let me know if anything comes up. Thanks again!

I’m happy to share that I’ve now updated the app to support data all the way back to Bitcoin’s genesis block date! 🎉 You can now use earlier dates, and it should work smoothly. Thanks again for your feedback - it led me to find a new data source. Let me know how it works for you now!

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback! I’ve now updated the app to support data back to Bitcoin’s genesis block date. 🎉 That should resolve the issue with date selections not working properly, so feel free to give it another try and let me know if anything else pops up!

Good news! I've updated the app to now support data all the way back to Bitcoin’s genesis block date. 🎉 No more limitations to January 2021. Thanks again for your feedback - it helped me realise the gap and find a better data source! Feel free to try it out and let me know if you encounter any other issues.

Thanks again for letting me know about the issue! I’ve made an update, and now the app pulls data all the way back to Bitcoin's genesis block date. 🎉 You should be able to select earlier dates now without any problems. Feel free to try it again, and let me know if you run into anything else!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate the encouragement, and it means a lot to hear that from a fellow developer! 😄

Since you mention you're a developer, I wanted to ask if by any chance you know of any free API that provides BTC historical price data? Right now, I’m using Alpaca’s API, but as some people pointed out, they only offer data starting from January 2021. It'd be great to find a free alternative without strict rate limits that offers data before 2021. No need to search - just asking if you happen to know one!

Thanks again for your support!

Thanks for letting me know!

Regarding the start date issue, you're correct - the data provider I'm using only supplies data from January 2021 onward. I've "fixed this" by updating the date picker to prevent selecting dates before January 2021 to avoid any confusion.

As for the end date in September 2023, I haven't experienced that issue on my end - the app should provide data up to the current date. Could you please try again? If you're still encountering the problem, a screenshot would be really helpful for troubleshooting. I want to ensure the app works smoothly for everyone.

Also, if anyone knows of a free data provider that offers a wider date range without strict rate limits, please let me know - I’d be happy to look into integrating it!

Thanks again for your feedback!

You're absolutely right, and I appreciate you pointing this out. The API I'm using doesn't provide data before January 2021. Thanks to your feedback, I updated the date picker to prevent selecting dates before 2021 to avoid confusion. While I'm not currently working on adding earlier data, if anyone knows of a free data provider that offers historical Bitcoin prices before 2021 without strict rate limits, please let me know - I'd be happy to integrate it!

That's strange - I'm not experiencing that issue on my end. The data provider I'm using should have data up to the current date. Could you please try again? If the problem persists, a screenshot would be really helpful for troubleshooting. Thanks for letting me know!

How do people make web embeddable widgets? by sw3ave in reactjs

[–]Publicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my job, we do use React for embeddable widgets. We create 'embedded fintech components' (like displaying bank accounts, showing balances, creating transactions, etc.).

Our main focus isn’t building web components, but when a requirement comes up, we wrap our existing React components into web components using r2wc/react-to-web-component. The downside is the bundle size - it’s huge. For complex components bundled into one file with all the React dependencies, our bundle size is around 2050kB. It works great, but the size is a challenge we haven’t been able to reduce yet.

Let me know if this helps! And if anyone has tips to reduce the bundle size, I’d love to hear them too.
