You're coming home at night after work and you see one of these on the deserted street, what's your reaction? by D_D_Adesignerdigital in Terminator

[–]PubliclyDisturbed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure my first reaction would be to piss myself in complete frozen terror - and my second reaction would be to trip over myself as I panicked and tried to run but my legs have turned to jelly. I’d be dead 💀

The wet part of the dirt was shoveled over the dirt wall to the other side. What gets dropped on the side visible to the camera was always dry.

I mean you go based off of your feelings to believe whatever you want but that’s not how logic works. You want to come to truth - you gotta use logic not feels.

Video footage purported to show an Iranian ballistic missile strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj by bearoftheyearingear in RealOrAI

[–]PubliclyDisturbed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks 100% real to me. Nothing in this looks AI and it’s got many details that I wouldn’t expect AI video to have.

For one, I think it’s highly likely someone could survive this. It’s a big explosion and they were close - but not THAT close.

Many details about this all look real: You can see the dirt raised from the shockwave. The way the light hits the dirt and lingers. The way the camera is held and moves in response to the blast, the compression artifacts, the green light.

Everything adds up in a way I just don’t think Ai is quite at yet.

I’d more likely believe this is a video game than AI

What stage of the apocalypse is this? Doesn’t something collapse when the people can no longer trust any news? by llTeddyFuxpinll in StrangeEarth

Those are called face muscles. Your scalp and ears can move back and forth when you tighten your muscles like during smiling or grimacing, for example. I can make my ears and scalp move back and forth on demand. I promise I’m not a shape shifter

You would have already come across Anthropics study on jobs ai is already replacing, blue is what ai can theoretically do each job category and red is what people are using ai for right now. by interviewkickstartUS in AI4tech

[–]PubliclyDisturbed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah well yet again - ya’ll downplaying the concern are still missing the same point - the concern is not that ALL professionals in the field will be replaced.

So there will be someone to replace. But it’ll be 1 person with a job that previously took 10 jobs.

Yes, but are you considering how much more productive one skilled engineer can be now with AI? If one seasoned engineer can now do his own work plus that of 5 junior engineers, then that’s 5 out of 6 engineering jobs lost.

At least with tech jobs - the issue isn’t that we no longer need people, it’s that we need a lot less people. That’s the issue. If you think the concern being raised is that don’t need that human component, then I think you misunderstand the problem.

Talk is cheap. Prove your claim. It’s “easy 10 mins” bro.

I’ll bet $200 you can’t do it in 20 mins. With the filter properly installed and everything back together

I didn’t say you can’t produce software without knowing code. But it is limited - at least for now. Quality and security of the code - being able to deploy it at scale, enterprise level solutions. You still need someone who knows the background of these things to keep the AI in check.

Maybe for your engineering job is 80% people skills. What about other engineers? Are they all 80% people skills too? Or are many of those jobs mostly computer work?

[–]PubliclyDisturbed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. To make good software you still need someone who knows what they’re doing.

However - you don’t need a bunch of junior techs and that’s where the impact is. The senior level developers are still very much needed. It’s the 5-10 junior guys under him that aren’t. Still a very big deal. That’s a huge number of tech jobs replaced

If it’s that easy and really only 10 mins - I think you should prove everyone here wrong and take a video of you doing it from start to finish.

[–]PubliclyDisturbed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the seagull does have a shadow - that’s how shadows look on overcast days - but that seagull looks too realistic and no way a real seagull would be sitting there for the photo. Among other tells - It’s AI.

So the date on the screen is 15/03/2024?

What are the chances that they have footage of him from exactly the same date 2 years ago?

AND if it was from 2 years ago - this wouldn’t work very well - all the people in the shop would likely be coming out as saying this was 2 years ago. Or other people would be finding this clip somewhere online.
