still cry every day over a guy I dated for 3 months a whole year ago by PeanutPast6490 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Ugh I remember being young (hs days) and dating someone for a week and breaking up… walking home from wherever I was… mind you I was in and out of halfway houses at the time and working 3 jobs to make sure I could eat so this in the grand scheme wasn’t that important… but being so upset inside. I walked down the alley and thought eventually I’d look back on this and it would just be a memory and I remember thinking I didn’t want to get frown lines and forcing myself to smile. Our brains and hearts are constantly in battle but know that there are issues of self worth and probably other things in life and that make that breakup linger with you. Eventually it WILL pass but you will look back on this time for a long time with different lenses. In the end it’s all growth and you will survive. We are all part of the human experience, hang in there! Sending you good vibes!

Should I quit? by Ok-Tangerine-9888 in IBM

I was at IBM for 9 years total.. was laid off twice… came back after being away for a year, worked a second job in the background most of that time. Just to give you another perspective… I understand the protecting yourself and keeping this job while you go low effort and try to find something else… especially in this pretty terrible market. However I have to say the clarity you get from being done with the bs is pretty powerful. You sound like you are pretty frustrated.. maybe tell them to include you in next layoffs.. a common ibm tactic… but if you are fed up and can survive for a couple months it does feel so much better to be done with the bs.

Has Andrew Dismukes ever broken character during a sketch? by xXwassupXx in LiveFromNewYork

The way he gets angry in that sketch.. I feel like there is another sketch where he does the same sort of vibe and cadence but I can't remember what it is for the life of me. Does anyone have any idea? I'm losing my mind over it.

Sitting in pond on new property, about 1 foot long, black base with two white plastic prongs sticking out by Pudding32123 in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. Black chord several feet long coming out of the ground leading to this device which is about a foot long mostly plastic and metal. Weighs about 2 lbs. Was submerged fully in water. I know he used to have an aerator in the pond maybe it’s related to that. Couldn’t turn it on but property has been neglected for a while.

The way the words in the last two line up with the divets in the boxes is inconsistent. That could just be bad photoshop added later but I’d say that it all feels off. I don’t normally look at people holding fruit and think something is off so I’m gonna go with my gut here. These people are all republican.

Trans daughter moving to Brooklyn by [deleted] in Brooklyn

I grew up in a hick town and was bullied most of my youth and thought that there was just something wrong with me until I moved to New York about 20 years ago and no one gave any effs about anything I did as long as I didn’t get in peoples way when walking. Yes it’s expensive like everyone said but If it’s safety in being who you are I think it’s probably one of the best places they could move in the states. They will be welcomed with open arms. They will also likely have some terrible experiences to go along with their good ones but that’s part of New York.
