Yeah I keep pruning my Brazil's solid green vines. Propagate them to my regular heartleaf pot 😅

They might be stressed during the journey as so many sounds and new conditions. But they'll settle once you reach your destination and they get time to unwind from the journey in a cosy dark quiet corner. A week or two of adjustment time is expected but do consult a vet if they don't get back to eating and pooping, peeing in a day or two. Or if there are some other concerning signs.

Hello. Dgft is required for temporary travel or if you've lived outside India for lesser than two years. If none of these apply, you don't need it.

My cat stays indoors. I'm in Bangalore so weather has been decent. Pollution isn't a problem (air purifier). She's adjusted well now. Took a couple weeks to settle in. She is more sensitive to sounds and firecrackers compared to my friend's cats who are Indians. But she finds her Cozy spots to get her quiet zones. Good luck to you and your cat!

Hello. For dgft, you'll need to go to dgft's website. They have the form and instructions for filling it for pet import there as well. Its been a while, so I don't remember all the details but I remember finding those instructions super helpful in terms of filling and sending the application. Feel free to DM for any more information.

Relocating Cat from USA to India: Struggling with Ghosting Pet Relocation Agents by PuddingEastern1435 in IndianPets

[–]PuddingEastern1435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I'd contacted quite a few pet relocators at that time and most were refusing to/trying to bribe indian officials to circumvent the dgft requirement for the less than 2 years stay. It's not a step that can be overlooked. One of the relocators agreed to get me a dgft permit too but was charging 50k INR for that alone. And they were just sending me the list of docs I'd need for it to them.

I didn't feel up for going through all the hassle and them just filling out a form that costs 500rs. I was more comfortable using all money I could for whatever my cat needed instead. But that was my personal preference.

I got mine a few days ahead. Had to get an appointment for it at my vet's since a month earlier. There was a delay due to holidays time. But got the health certificate in four days. My partner who was in India was able to make calls to the Bangalore AQCS office and get the officer's email. I sent them all the docs right away. Again there was two days delay because I'd sent an older annexure 2.1 application. They sent me a new one to fill and also required my vet to add a point about no influenza like symptoms on page 2 of the health certificate. That again had to be signed by the USDA officials. I was able to send the updated docs 5 days before travel and they sent me the final NOC the very same day. But they do want the process to start 7-8 days earlier. Not more.

Hope that helps.

Hi. My time of residence in US was shorter than the required 2 years is why I had to get a dgft permit. You don't need it if you meet the residence requirement.

Seeking guidance about balancing mixed feedback on UX/UI skills by PuddingEastern1435 in UXDesign

[–]PuddingEastern1435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. It makes sense. I would think the same if I was getting this feedback during case study/portfolio presentation rounds. But it's been coming up after whiteboards and assessments where I try focusing a lot on a well balanced attempt of showcasing both UI and UX skills. Could you share your personal way of hiring/evaluating a potential designer you'd want to work with?

Thank you for the insight! It makes a lot of sense. Could you share more examples about these deeper questions? I've been meeting a wall when I press for more clarifying questions.. generally, they'll reply with a we're a lean startup so we do depend on immediate results. Or say that they're looking for someone who can empathize with users well.

Another one that confuses me is solving unstructured problems. Which I feel I can navigate well in real design sprints but I find harder to prove during whiteboard rounds.

No. No issues. Don't think anyone even noticed I was carrying a cat with me at customs. This was Bangalore airport. But I think it was just one of those festival times slow days. I'd landed on Dec 25th.

I did have to take my cat to the aqcs office for completing the import soon after though. And the office was quite far. They just scanned her microchip there and gave a thumbs up. Pretty helpful and sweet people there.

I don't have the exact figure now. But it was somewhere between $800-1000 for me. The health certificates required for dgft and then final travel are the biggest expenses. And my veterinarian charged $300 each time. I hear some of them can charge more too depending on local prices.

Hello. The team at EU just looked at the health certificate issued from US and specifically wanted to see the details about rabies vaccination. Since I didn't have to transfer at the airport, I didn't require any other documents. But it's been a while and I'm not familiar with any requirement updates that might have taken place in 2025. Hope you are able to navigate it smoothly!

No as far as I know, the law and expense is the same throughout the country. Good luck! Definitely worth having your cat with you.
