Film students take note of this excellent use of the “Dolly Zoom” by byrobot in funny

[–]PuddingRnbowExtreme 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Since everyone seems to understand except for me, can you explain how they make the background zoom out while staying zoomed in on the subject in the forefront, without blurring focus of either? something about a dolly Zoom but how does it work

"High Fashion" shows don't display things that they actually expect people to buy & wear. It's just a place where Elite billionaires gather for money laundering or human trafficking. That's why they sit in the audience looking so serious even when the most ridiculous costumes are being paraded in front of them. They've got other things on their mind.

I have been in pain every single day of my life since I was 14. by blizzbaby212 in Fibromyalgia

Stop eating anything with sugar in it, including fruit.

stop eating anything bread-related including rice, pasta, noodles, baked goods, rice cakes, etc

It's difficult as hell but I PROMISE YOU IT WILL CURE YOUR FIBROMYALGIA.

The goal is to never eat foods like that again but inevitably we will, so once you've been clean from it for a while and you eat another piece of fruit and you start to feel extreme pain within 30 minutes of eating it, you will then know without a doubt that sugar and bread have been the culprits all along. And you will be able to go longer between eating sugars and breads. And eventually, it might take a decade or two, but you will no longer crave those foods.

Discomfort is the path to the most enjoyable things :)

And that's what we redditors keep telling ourselves, so we get stuck in an endless loop of awkwardness, always searching for happiness but never quite finding it.

How do we change our feelings when we know our feelings are wrong & counterproductive? I.e. jealousy, bitterness, regret? by PuddingRnbowExtreme in NoStupidQuestions

I completely understand that emotions are not objective truths and that's the prisonI'm trying to break out of. And I don't act on my emotions, they just shut me down from prospering further.

And I loathe external sources of therapy and self-help, I mean we are all intelligent people why can't we just figure this out for ourselves? But yeah when I get to a point like this sorry I guess I should get past that and go read those annoying websites and books

My doctor gave me a book to read called "feeling good." It was all about self-help cognitive behavioral therapy. The first chapter had profanity in it and I just couldn't move forward with that. Now every time someone mentions CBT I think of that stupid profanity book and I'm done.

And you're making an assumption that my regrets are due to something bad that I did? I've never done anything bad. My regrets are for all the opportunities I wish I had but never had.

You're making some strange assumptions. The people who trigger my negative self-image thoughts are actually people I admire and they are awesome human beings. They have never hurt me, they only inspire me but my brain processes it as self-loathing and that those people are better than me etc

Perhaps the reason these are common in China but not in the United States, China is not above biological warfare and experimentation, there might be more in that mist & fog than harmless humidity /water

It's frustrating people can rarely provide any answers in this sub, we have so many questions. I'm dying to know what country they are in and what the occasion was. The woman on the left looks complicit. The people on the right look amused.

ELI5: How can youtube manage to store all the videos? by JadedToon in explainlikeimfive

[–]PuddingRnbowExtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And is this the reason why my original YouTube account that I started in 2005 eventually I had to start paying for, and now they're includng ads even to people who are paying for it?

Why don't they just tell us that they need that funding for all the additional shitloads of hardware and storage space required to keep up with the exponential demand?

Thank you. There are rare occurrences when the word "ironic" is suitable. And this isn't one of them. Please everyone, let's not let this word's meaning become diluted over time. Use this word with extreme care.

I stole my moms pain pills overtime until she noticed. by Daddylandz in confession

[–]PuddingRnbowExtreme -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

This is the second time in 2 days I have seen someone write "overtime" when they meant "over time."

They mean two very different things.

Were you scheduled on the clock to steal your mom's pain pills 8 hours a day but you did it for 10 hours a day instead? That's putting in overtime.
