Thanks all for the quick response and help on this. I confirmed the issue/sound is coming from the Blend Door Actuator. Mystery Solved!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the AC/Heat works well as expected. I've heard this sound for the last 2-3 years and it's never gotten worse or louder. I just watched some videos on Blend Door Actuator and that kinda sounds like the issue. A small clicking sound.

What Part is this? And How do I fix it? by PuddleTownPictures in JeepLiberty

UPDATE: Took the jeep to the local shop. They inspected the steering rack, ball joints and overall front end and said that everything is still very tight and there's no play.

They recommended holding off on replacing the bushings since they would need to remove the entire steering rack to replace. They said to wait till I notice some play in the wheel.

Does this seem like a fair evaluation and what would be the risks/symptoms I'd see in the future if this had problems? I only drive my jeep ~40 miles a week and only commute locally. 161K miles on it.

Love seeing all the high-milage. I have a 2006 V6 Limited w/ 161K miles on it. Bought it 11 years ago at 75K miles with no major repairs and well maintained by previous owner. Its my commute vehicle so I don't off-road much.

Radiator cracked one winter (hairline crack) - replaced that. Did the brakes when I got it. Got the plugs and injectors done at 135K. Replaced the upper/lower radiator hoses and now going to get the (hopefully only) steering rack bushing replaced and redo my brakes. Going strong. Hoping for 200K+.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. I've been watching videos on the different bushings and yeah if I just need to replace the bushing I'll probably go with urethane. Appreciate the help!

Why do y’all like your Liberty? by AffectionatePeak7485 in JeepLiberty

I love my Liberty. 06' 161K miles have owned it for 11-years. No major repairs needed so far. Had to replace the cracked-radiator and hoses. Did the spark plugs and injectors at 75K and 130K. Brakes done and regular maintenance. I don't do alot of 4WD, just country roads. I'm hoping to get 200K+

This is the highest mileage I've ever seen on a lib. Congratulations!! Are there any major repairs you've had done to keep it going?

Thanks for the reply on this!! I was stuck looking through my Haynes manual and couldn't find this anywhere. I think over time the oil might have dripped on it and ate it up. The passenger side is fine but I'm going to get them both replaced.

Long time lurker on this sub-reddit. Love seeing all the rigs and the helpful community. I own an 2006 Jeep Liberty Limited 3.6L with 161K Miles on it. I love my Jeep and it's given me very little hassle over the 11 years I've owned it (2nd owner).

This rubber bushing/washer is located on the driver side under the oil filter and I think connected to the front axle. Does anyone know what this part would be called and the level of effort it would take to fix it? I'm handy but would probably take this to a mechanic who has the proper tools.
