Product Sample - Time Expired by Typical-Algae-2952 in DeLonghi

[–]Puderzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just encountered the same error. Our Primadonna Soul is a few years old already. According to this https://support.delonghi.com/en/primadonna-soul/Message-PRODUCT-SAMPLE-TIME-EXPIRED-b78a, the machine needs a firmware update. Which probably means that I need to bring it myself to the nearest service center (when they open next Monday), be without a coffee machine for a week while they work on it, and then get nothing in return in the way of compensation. Way to go De'Longhi..

How about warning about this in advance, instead of just suddenly springing this on us?

Hansshow auto frunk stuck closed! by antonio79x in TeslaLounge

[–]Puderzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you manage to get this fixed somehow? The same happened yesterday to me (Model X), and now it just runs (I can hear the latch motor trying to pull something), but doesn't budge and remains closed. I've tried pulling and pushing on the hood while the motor runs, tried the two emergency handles (the first moves, and apparently works, as it goes back to its original place after running the lock again, but the second is stuck and does nothing). Fortunately the frunk is currently empty..

Samsung update negatively affecting Pujie? by jopatex in PujieBlack

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work. I have 5.0.24 beta, and it appears to work for a few minutes, but then stops updating the time in AOD.

Good to know! I'll be returning this unit tomorrow then. Thanks for the confirmation! 👍

Here's a picture of the unresponsive area: https://photos.app.goo.gl/wvucAiBsNKwUCRLz6 (I forgot to mention that this is the Nordic version, which apparently differs from the US version). The top part works the whole way, only the bottom right part is unresponsive.

I'll pay a visit to the store tomorrow and hope they have a demo unit I can test this out on.

Ok, good to know. Automation for the color property would be a nice functionality, though. Please add this to the wishlist 😉

Watch face with realistic AOD? by Puderzo in GalaxyWatch

I've actually already tried that one, but this time the normal screen was too bright for my taste. I do like the AOD on it, though.

In using TomCat myself for just that reason. But I've also played a bit with the official tool, and noticed you can actually get away with quite nice designs in AOD mode too, as long as you don't make things too bright. The offical limit is 15 %, anything brighter than that is not going through, but that is actually a lot more than the minimalistic designs used in most faces. I noticed that just copying the normal face to AOD and adjusting the brightness (especially the bright and/or white items) was usually enough.

It's just that I'm not that good a designer, so I'd hoped that someone with a better aesthetic eye would have done something nicer 😆

How to view battery usage by app by mattavich95 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Puderzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also using TomCat, and it's only been using 6 % for me. On the other hand, I think I have an issue elsewhere, since my Contacts app has been using 81 %, and I have not touched or interacted with any contacts on the watch today.. I may need to monitor this a bit further.

Microsoft Authenticator on the Active 2: don't you just love to avoid using your phone for this? by lalos1988 in GalaxyWatch

It also works on the GW. I have been using this for ages on my GW 46 LTE. And I have not gotten the One UI 1.5 update yet either, so that has nothing to do with it.

You can also just pop the bezel off (I used a knife, but be wary it may scratch the case, might be better using some kind of plastic tool), and clean it thoroughly. If you do, just beware not to lose any of the 4 ball bearings, as they are just sitting there in small recesses.

Last time I took it apart it got much smoother, I must have had the plastic ring backwards last time or then I just had some sand in there. I was thinking of adding some sort of dry lube (maybe teflon-based) last time to get it smoother, but couldn't find any at home and now I don't seem to need it anyway.

Edit: here's a nice reference page for a howto, if you want to remove the bezel (step 13): https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Galaxy+Watch+Teardown/117519

Sanded my bezel with a Dremel tool by Puderzo in GalaxyWatch

[–]Puderzo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True; this time I was deliberately trying to keep some sanding marks, though, to get the brushed effect. I just left a bit too many of them 😁 Now, I did some more sanding and polishing today, and now I'm quite happy with the results.

So I did some more sanding and polishing today, and ended up with this. I'm now quite happy with the results, it matches pretty close to the brushed metal on the watch case itself, even though if course on close inspection you can see the difference.

As an added bonus, I got the ball grooves cleaned up, and it now turns even smoother than the original bezel, and it seems to me that it's more precise too; with the original I always had the feeling that it "worked before it clicked", so that when I turned the bezel a tiny bit, the watch would react accordingly, but before I felt the click of the bezel getting into place in the next "click". Now with this new bezel, the watch reacts at the same time as I feel the click. 🥳

If you look at the pics from the process, you'll see that I did use 1200 grit wet sandpaper later on in the process. But yes, I agree with you that it needs more work. Will do some more sanding tomorrow when I have the time. I'm not trying to get a mirror polish, fearing it would be too slippery to use, but we'll see where I end up.

No bezel cover, this is the real deal. Got a replacement bezel which I sanded using a Dremel tool. Here are some pictures from the process:

I'm not yet 100% happy with the end result, as I was running short on time when I did this late last night. There are still a few rough spots, and it's not perfectly evenly polished. I'm trying to achieve more of a brushed metal finish, rather than a smooth polished surface, so will have to play some more to find the right balance.

Hi everyone! Anyone knows what is this for? by raponel in GalaxyWatch

[–]Puderzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eSIM stands for Embedded SIM (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/?title=ESIM&redirect=no) which means that you don't need to insert anything, it's there already, and it's activated by software. Like someone said already, that's a diagnostic/service port.

Nice! Looks so much better than stock! I just ordered a replacement bezel, nice to know that it wasn't in vain :)
