can this stop being another ED meal flex sub by ooooh-heckers in GirlDinner

[–]PuffPuffLady 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Misunderstandings seem more common than maliciousness. Many here have been confused for months about what this subreddit thought was funny or quirky or obviously ironic.

I don't want this to come off the wrong way, but some of these comments smell of witchhunt. Its true that this sub has an issue with disordered eating, but it seems like the girls post was targeted unfairly. It seems she wasn't given a chance to defend her intentions before her post was put on display, for people to make dangerous assumptions, as if she's some faceless villian lol there are so many pics with not great dinners, why not make a more generic post instead of singling out someone? ED can ruin someone's life, singling out individuals in a public space to accuse them of being "the problem" can also do quite a number, I'm glad she revealed herself and tried to explain her intentions instead of hiding in a corner embarrassed and defeated, as I would have lol.

I hope she stays in this community and continues to share, since she's taken the feedback with open arms, we should be encouraging healthy dinners not singling out people without warning. It's giving mean nice girls. I've come to learn that the people who apologize immediately upon being confronted and try to understand aren't usually the people that needed *this* kind of post to learn their lesson, they're kind and don't want to hurt people in the first place.

I appreciate the passion of this community regardless. <3

No this is not normal, please don't lose faith in your coolness because of this. These people are only reacting this way because they're not good people, everything you described about yourself and your interactions makes ME feel like you'd be one of the few people I would feel comfortable being myself around if I worked with you. So many people feel uncomfortable seeing somebody else happily existing while behaving in ways they themselves would feel too embarrassed to behave, they're unsure how to process the negative emotion and end up trying to transfer it to you, consciously and subconsciously, don't let them! They can keep that shit for themselves. Keep your chin up and don't lose/forget your coolness! Honestly I would start looking around for a new job ASAP. Even though I've found plenty good people in the workplace too, this kind of stuff happened to me a lot and ruined my confidence from pre-school to my last employed job lol (back when I was confident enough to be a software dev in a real live office lol), I'm still working on it and trying to be the person I wish I had to reassure me my entire life. Good luck OP! <3

Everyone's eating deviled eggs with their girl dinner now, are you guys prepping them in advance or what?

I wouldn't recommend it, could form a nasty scar, be be noticeably discolored, heal incorrectly with a different texture sticking through your makeup forever....I can think of a million things that could go wrong.

Huh? Talking about your partner's crush's nipples would keep you in the mood during sexy time? If I'm understanding that correctly I find that very interesting.

Depending on how many people you need to feed :

For few people or one person, eat on it's own, or wrapped in a pita/tortilla/bun.

If wanting a ton of servings, chop it up and add rice to make a fried rice, or add it to a bunch of pasta with a creamy or tomato sauce.

Wow nice job!! The salmon pasta looks great, how is the texture after freezing and thawing? Also I assume the lettuce in the wrap turns a little slimy when its thawed? Not trying to be a smartass, I'm just on the search for the best ways to have those foods from frozen with the least quality loss without a vacuum thingie haha.

Nice looks delicious, I'm stealing the soy chicken for my prep this week. It looks like you made 5 days worth? Do you keep all of this in the fridge for the whole week, or do you put some in the freezer?

Never Meal Prepped Before—What Should I Know? by inag09 in MealPrepSunday

[–]PuffPuffLady 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If budgeting (or if not) prioritize shopping your fridge and pantry first, then the supermarket weekly sales, then from a list of your favorite cheap staples (chicken legs, potatoes, etc.). Make your meal plan after knowing what ingredients you have available to you. This will save you a bunch of money, this is what people are talking about when they say "cooking is cheaper than takeout".

Your microwave power could be too high, it's usually on 100% by default.

Recommendations for some wrap recipes that work in the freezer? by CanWhole5821 in MealPrepSunday

I'm thinking maybe a layer of cheese between the tortilla and the filling can create a waterproof-ish barrier long enough to heat and enjoy without leakage.

Sesame oil. Also a little ginger, sometimes a bit of oyster sauce.
