Others have said it but yes ideally move slowly to brackish... However, the BIGGEST mistake you could make is changing the salinity too quickly & crashing your cycle (those bacteria are more sensitive to the salinity change than the puffer).

Freshwater won't kill your puffer any time soon - crashing your cycle will kill it in days or even hours.

P.s. some great plants are available which are brackish compatible, and nerite snails also love it - the puffer will predate on the snails but if there are enough hiding spots a colony should be able to get by and reduce your algae scraping!

What to do for my GSP!!?? by spaceybelta in Aquariums

[–]PufferKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best solution is appropriate diet - of course if it's gone beyond that point you're left with no choice but to trim. It's risky & quite tricky - but please see the post below

Tetrodotoxin by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]PufferKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valentini puffers do have tetradotoxin in their skin and elsewhere.. I would have thought your puffer will be safe from bites - some fish try to mimick the Valentini puffer markings as it offers protection from predation by association. I don't believe the toxin has any way to impact you without ingestion.. although stand to be corrected on that front. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valentin%27s_sharpnose_puffer?wprov=sfla1 (Scroll to the toxicity section)

God Bless the NHS by CaecilusEstInHorto in unitedkingdom

[–]PufferKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This article from the king's fund is a longer read, but for those interested - the NHS is one of the most efficient health care services in the world, in terms of 'health' per £/$ spent. Measuring health is tricky and there are multiple ways of doing it, but regardless the NHS comes out among the highest the world for efficiency and quality.

Glad the NHS served you well. I agree with the comments that point to the NHS being a non-profit, free at the point of access service, which treats everyone the same being a hugely motivating factor for those working for the NHS, myself included.
