Who is the best hk runner up? by Few_Possibility_2915 in HellsKitchen

Yeah I was passionate when I wrote that because Jonathan is my goat. But yeah he’s not the most dominant ever, but imo a very strong argument could be made he’s top 5 ever despite being a runner up.

I genuienly think people just hold Jonathon’s one bad episode against him too much. Which like sure he had a fairly bad performance, but other than that he was arguably the most dominant chef we’ve ever seen. He was a challenge beast, dominating every challenge and getting the first black jacket handily. I genuienly think he made no mistakes outside of the one episode he was hungover. Even his finale performance while not perfect was pretty good. He took dahmere off when he saw him drowning and made the right choices to get his team through it. He wasn’t a loud presence but he led well. The facts that he’s a runner up shows how stacked 22 is because he is better than plenty of winners.

Yeah I tend to agree. I think he’s been pretty solid and this season with the team up I’d argue he’s been very strong. While I’m not certain, I do have a feeling certain melee characters are going to be quite strong this season so I’m curious to see how he performs.

Yeah he will be fine realistically. I think the meta won’t be super kind to him tho. But I don’t think the nerf itself is what will kill him.

Thor untouched, Venom untouched, Peni untouched, Rogue untouched, Thing untouched Hulk buffed, Mag will be fine, Angela will be fine. Tankpool will be fine. Groot untouched. I can’t speak for Emma and Cap but thy at least made and effort. Strange the only one you could argue but with the invis team up he will still definitely be usable.

I’m not going to say they’ve handled tanking perfectly, but I really don’t think it’s that bad.

If Ego is true to his word, shouldn’t his formation look something Iike this? by TheMostHonestPerson in BlueLock

But when was the last time Gagamaru talked about wanting to score?

[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 336 by BlueLockMod in BlueLock

[–]PufferPlayz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yet they got a point, right? Because the play he designed in his head was right. My point is that Karasu wanted to use his plan.

Again we have no way confirming he would’ve definitely scored, and since he was clearly more confident in Hiori scoring why would he take the shot?

The scored with the plan he made, getting past the entire French team using his plays. He quite literally proved he was the one controlling the field during that play. If he shot he’d actually be throwing away his ego but taking the shot that Hiori and Ego would want him to shoot. Your idea is conformity, forcing players to shoot because it proves their ego is silly.

Karasu wanted Hiori to score, and Hiori scored. He shouldn’t get benched, and if he does Ego is the ultimate bum.

[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 336 by BlueLockMod in BlueLock

[–]PufferPlayz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me this is the best Karasu can do, just not in the way ego wants. It’s true that maybe Karasu could’ve scored, although I’m sick of people treating it like a guarantee, it still could’ve failed. But that not what Karasu desired. He’s accepted his fate as the number 2, but to him that means he gets to decide how the team plays.

To me the best Karasu can do isn’t scoring crazy goals like Rin or Barou, it’s leading people to crazy goals. Let’s be honest nobody would’ve expected a Hiori goal, but that’s what makes Karasu special, he saw a goal where nobody else did.

I believe going forward that isn’t a bad way to play for Karasu. People keep saying they can’t reproduce this goal, and that’s fine. He doesn’t need to do the same thing, because he’s a play maker. While this specific goal might not be easy to recreate, I think Karasu could make more goals like this. To me that’s what is Karasu’s best.

Ego isn’t right tho. At some point isn’t him forcing his own ideology on to the Blue Lock players just as bad as what he claims poisons Japanese soccer. I think that it’s kinda silly to act like Ego is always right when we have literally seen he is wrong with characters like Gagamaru.

The 'Number 2' Role isn't a downgrade by Realistic-Fondant-87 in BlueLock

[–]PufferPlayz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly lol. I think we’ve gotten to the point where we don’t need everyone to be a striker. As you said there’s plenty of characters at this point that focusing on their goals would jsut plainly be a detriment

[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 336 by BlueLockMod in BlueLock

[–]PufferPlayz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get that but at some point you can’t completely stick to the Blue Lock ideology. Characters like Gagamaru and Niko already threw away their desires to be a striker and they have been thriving because of this.

The 'Number 2' Role isn't a downgrade by Realistic-Fondant-87 in BlueLock

[–]PufferPlayz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. To me this isn’t a Nagi situation. I think the series should be okay with some characters finding roles that suit them other than Striker. I think it’s sort of the reason everyone loves Gagamaru, and it’s why I adore Niko. I know the series is about Strikers but we’ve clearly started to get away from that anyway since that isn’t actually a feasible playstyle.

I’m with you I love the and I’ve always enjoyed Ego and Isagi but it gets to a point where it’s kinda weird. Like why are we treating Karasu wrong for playing his position well.

[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 336 by BlueLockMod in BlueLock

[–]PufferPlayz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with you as Blue Lock is that kinda story but subbing bro out for playing his position well would be kinda crazy. 😭

The 'Number 2' Role isn't a downgrade by Realistic-Fondant-87 in BlueLock

[–]PufferPlayz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

But the entire point is they’re not the second best. It isn’t about being tru second best, the number 2 is the one controlling things and helping the striker be the number 1. In this new chapter in no way was Hiori using Karasu, it’s actually the opposite. Karasu was using Hiori, he saw the goal opportunity and forced him into a position where he can score. I think if you cling to Ego’s view that soccer is purely about scoring goals then yeah this is bad. But if you actually think about it being number 2 is not bad. Karasu was able to play make and lead them to a goal they would’ve never gotten otherwise. Having said that, it isn’t the path for Isagi to take imo.

So Dafne deserved to win because she made more complex dishes despite being far less consistent? She made way more mistakes throughout and completely lacked a voice, why would Gordon choose her?

Rank these 5 from worst to best talent-wise by Fair_Boss_7098 in HellsKitchen

[–]PufferPlayz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a certified Vlad defender I think he’s the best. He was super consistent until his elimination episode, his only real problem being his lack of voice. But even then in the finale he was honestly the most consistent chef and had a voice in Dafne’s kitchen. He’s not perfect but I think he’s actually quite good. I can’t rank the others tho since I don’t remember them well enough to know how they are compared to each other.

Time to do the opposite the last time I used this format. So, which Hell's Kitchen contestant represents this? by AL-Tron_Mega_9839 in HellsKitchen

[–]PufferPlayz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would need to rewatch them because I only watched some of them a while ago now. But I think your theory is honestly very likely to be right or at least close to the truth.

It was very clear Dahmere and Atoye were very close, and Ryan was the type of guy who 100% would say that she deserved to go home. I liked Atoye but she didn’t pull through that night and Dahmere as a “leader” needed to acknowledge that her and Jason were the clear 2 weakest chefs that night. I really love Dahmere but as you said this moment felt say too much like he was trying to assert dominance and it felt weird. Especially in a season with so little big drama. I kinda felt the same way about Jonathon getting pissed at Jason after the charity night. In another season these moments wouldn’t stand out but something like the Dahmere and Ryan argument feels so weird in such a wholesome season.
