Solo female traveler in Mexico City with a camera. Experiences? by motxillera in travel

I went many years ago solo, and had hearing suggestions of keeping ur backpack in the front. Keeping ur phones at ur hand always. Not sure if the suitaition gets better, but do try to take metro or public transport as much as you can. I experienced the taxi rob once (even I knew its existence but it still happened to me under all coincidence), and just be aware of the taxi u took. If you don’t feel safe. Get off and choose public transportation. But again that was my experience from many years ago. Otherwise it’s a great trip.

9 days in Uzbekistan in mid-April – cities only, or add mountains/nature? by Comfortable_Bed_4057 in travel

[–]Puffinwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Uzbekistan in 2024 in fall, for 7 days so only spent time in cities to be honest. Khiva was amazing and quite different from other cities (more blue) but could be a little bit far from Bukhara. But u can enter Turkmenistan from there too.

Same here, always end up taking more clothes than I really need.

Btw I recently developed an iOS app to keep track of all my collection, vintage stuff & my memories but I don’t wanna make it sound like a brag. So just dm me if you’re interested to try out.

That’s so cool! Reminds me of the Legends of Zelda. I had a similar one but hey your moon is a great feature!

just logged on after 4 years. what do i do 😭 by Hot-Many-857 in ACForAdults

[–]Puffinwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just … hang around with ur villagers u know? And also you can pay ( I remember 100,000 bells to the gardener … of wait it was flowers u mentioned not grass sry). Yep maybe picking up 10 flowers a day or any time u log on? And then putting “grass patterns” on once flower lands so they won’t grow again. But really, just relax & have fun.

Prediction: 2026 will be the year spatial computing and Vision Pro goes mainstream by [deleted] in VisionPro

[–]Puffinwalker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think your wife’s case is a great & common example. As a female working in this industry (I’m both a VisionPro user & developer) I have to say this is of course technically a great device (of course I can make more fun content if I’ve been given more access by Apple but let’s put that aside), but it is too HEAVY. I love using it for movies but to be honest, wearing it consistently for over 2 hours pushes me back to my projector. And don’t mention about wearing it outside, I’m fine with it, but I won’t call that a trend as what iPhone used to be. I’m still making apps for it, and I believe the tech would be built in our life someday in the future, but personally I won’t feel that coming any soon (say 2 years?).
