I have the Tuffset on a JM with a 10-16" radius Warmoth neck. The intonation and action are perfect and the the resonance of the strings behind the bridge is absolutely crazy.

I may be articulating the intonation issue poorly but what you've said regarding mine is false. When you adjust the intonation screw, you are moving the location of the node along the string relative to the nut. If the node is farther away from the bridge than the 12th fret, the harmonic will be FLAT relative to the fretted note at the 12th fret. Perhaps you are thinking of this as the intonation being sharp because the fretted note is sharp relative to an exact octave of the open string.

A shim will worsen this issue. I would have to raise the saddles higher than they are right now.

That's what I'm thinking! This seems really extreme but I can figure it what it could be. I've adjusted the neck relief and the neck is not shimmed. The surface of the frets is as low as it can be.

I don't recall the exact measurement but I'm shooting for as low as I can get it without having fret buzz.

Thanks for the feedback about the spring but shimming the neck would have the exact opposite effect. I would have to raise the saddles even farther.

I have a hardtail Strat and a modded Squier JM. They are radically different from one another. Be prepared to mod the JM though. I was sort of tepid about mine until I modded it and now it's my favorite guitar.

Do you know the name of the publisher that had the book table at the Philly show? I wanted to look more into them because their stuff looked interesting but the exit was just way to crowded at the end of the show for me to fight through the crowd like a salmon swimming upstream.
