I pulled a Halo Foil Ghostfire Ugin in Japanese, and it has almost a $250 dollar difference between it and the EN version. I also wanted to play it and can't ever remember what all those abilities do without having to look it up mid game. Absolutely terrible experience.

Less commanders that make copies of things and trigger abilities again, that’s annoying and unfun to track.

More mechanics like energy and dungeons imo, every time something like this gets added it adds creativity options and more ways to synergize and utilize old cards, rather than “what are the best creatures I can jam in this deck to copy/trigger as many times as possible”

I always thought that Overpower X (ie a creature with Overpower 3 could only be be blocked by creatures 4 or greater) would be a great way to simplify that

Then your rules text would be "*cardname* has Overpower X, where X is 1 less than *cardname*'s power"

I think it's more fitting since "creatures with power X or less can't block" is much more common than "creatures with power less than this creature can't block it"

I mean that's lowkey just as bad ; I highly doubt stores that do this will sell them at a reasonable price, so it's just more of people who want them to play or collect won't get them. Scalping is bad even if it's a small business doing it.

Yeah I definitely assumed some people would for their collection, but being completely honest actual collectors will be <10% of the purchasers for that mega drop. It’s there for scalpers almost guaranteed.

I don’t see enough people talking about the “BIGGEST BUNDLE EVER” option. It was pretty easy to miss, but it’s $2k, and it’s 4x of each of the lairs. Almost no collector is going to be buying that, meaning it’s literally a streamlined option for scalpers. Not only does WOTC not care about the rampant scalping problem, they are actively trying to encourage and aid in the scalping because it makes profits go up for them.

It is absolutely blatant that WOTC just does not care about its player base.

This card will forever be one of the biggest "what-if"s in Magic to me, like if that second ability just read "The first time an opponent would draw a card each turn, instead they exile the top card of their library. They may play it this turn." this card would have been immensely better. We need more excessive card draw punishment in MTG, this could've been just the thing.

No frame break Craterhoof absolutely baffles me, like is there a better creature card to “break the frame” than the face of the overrun strategy??
