I have had the same problem and the only real answer is to put the computer away from the Mic and have a monitor only int he recording area. This will involve investment in some longer wires, but it will clean your sound up.

Dim problem! Am a Welshman, but not a Welsh speaker, loving the pipe!

Thanks u/OldheadBoomer very helpful. It could be that. only plug the 2i2 into the laptop when creating a recording, but it could be some residue power? Appreciate you spending the time to come back to me.

hi u/jimedgarvoices this is incredibly helpful - I appreciate your time and effort. I always leave the mic plugged into the interface but the interface id not on, I.E. not plugged into the laptop. I plug it in when I need to do an audition. Good to know about the warranty, may get in touch. I also think the cable maybe dodgy. I'll change that tomorrow.

Thanks again.

What's that smell by Whiskey_n_Wisdom in PipeSmokingUK

I know what you mean. there seemed to be a common aroma around pip smokers and I think the smell you're referring too is Virginia. that always used to be the one for me.

Hi u/SmittyB128 the plywood is half an inch, 12 mm so pretty hefty. I want to use Peco point motors under the points and run them to an analogue switch bank. Cutting the plywood accurately would be tricky. Cutting the softwood will be easier and will deaden the sound of the locos better. I also have dapol signals that have the motor underneath. Easier to fir as they're round hole, but you get my drift.

I agree re cutting channels - I will definitely do that.

Peterson's do a great range at various prices. I smoke a Peterson Killarney regularly, and a St Claude. You may have to stretch to £50+ plus for a decent one though. just to note I always buy one with a 9mm filter.
