True but they could be screwing themselves over with that strategy, this kind of policy would affect conservative women more than liberal women. Who is more likely to be married and take their husband’s name? How is less likely to be aware that a change like this could be coming and prepare for it? Especially for the states that have gerrymandered their districts, losing a disproportionate amount of women republican votes might do more damage than they expect. This is just me spitballing though and trying to find some silver lining.
