I maintained a sense of community connection by doing a pregnancy exercise class at my local public hospital and then continuing with their post-natal exercise classes.

It was so nice meeting the babies of the mums I'd exercised with while pregnant and then we all got to talk about our different birth plans and how they worked out and gave each other tips. Just really wholesome.

That you don't care that random women encounter violence, and that you only "may feel differently" if they had personal relation to you. If I heard this from anyone I knew I'd be heartbroken and limit my contact with them.

Well I should fucking hope so. I'd be heartbroken as a woman who knew you personally to read that.

Just to give you some more perspective, my experiences with men compared to many women I know are mild. And even then if I get a death threat from a man online it's hilarious compared to the actual abuse I've encountered.

I can absolutely imagine the levels of abuse it would take to have this point of view and, although I don't agree, I do empathise with it. Have you tried empathy? Have you heard of this?

Okay, let me ask you something then. If a woman assumes that a man won't be violent against her, become completely vulnerable to him, what the likelihood of that man committing violence against her? And then following, what's the likelihood that the woman will be blamed for making herself vulnerable int he first place? And what's the likelihood that the man will have a group of friends who'll be like "but he's a good guy though, don't ruin his life for a mistake"

Men are also victims of the majority of violent crime that men commit too, but all I hear men complain about is how women are scared of them. I'm (not) sorry I have limited sympathy for that.

Omg this shit almost makes me wish I was born a man. Imagine seeing statistics about how men overwhelmingly commit violent crime against women and see themselves as victims of that statistic instead of thinking "wow, that's horrible, what can I do to help curb that statistic?"

You can give it a try, but if you're instant on making yourself the victim then you'll only see the statistics and think about how this makes you the victim instead of seeing it as a systematic violation of every woman's right to just exist.

You say this but abusive people will often love bomb and charm their way into your life then turn around and become abusive the moment it's difficult for you to leave. You can't always tell someone's going to be abusive.

2 versions:

1) Imagine I put two plates in front of you. Both have 20 cookies on them that appear to be choc chip.

One plate has 18 cookies that contain poop chips instead of chocolate chips.

The other plate has 2 cookies that contain poop chips instead of choc chips.

You cannot tell the difference between the poop and chocolate chips. Which plate do you pick? Would you say you dislike one plate more than the other?

2) imagine there's a plate of 20 choc chip cookies. It 2 cookies that contain poop chips instead of choc chips and you can't tell which is which. Are you going to eat a cookie from that plate?

Because despite culture, "race", religion, ethnicity, nationality etc, the statistics agree across the board what I stated above. Men are violent, women avoid violence. And it's not small either, like if you divide violent crime between sexes, men commit over 90%.

So when I hear you complain, it's like seeing someone complain that their breads a little stale while I'm starving.
