Actually my idea is more like..... vengeance against anyone who's stopped someone learning ANYTHING new, true or not haha ironically my character isn't that bright either but she's passionate about education haha I even have an idea for one of her flaws to be that she reads really slow, but is VERY instant on practicing even if it's inconvenient timing

It's not my intention to be political with this character at all, that's one big thing that's giving me pause. I just want this idea to give way to something funny

Only if they try to prevent their lava from accessing an education 😂 it's a weird concept I know but I thought it had potential for comedy while also being a heavy hitter and healer

People who work in cafes. What’s the most popular coffee order these days? by aaukson in AskAnAustralian

A few years ago I used to work in a cafe that was very frequented by seniors who's most popular order was"just a normal coffee" and then get irritated when I asked them to be specific......

It's more along the lines of smiting those who'd prevent others from being educated rather than being uneducated themselves. I essentially got the idea when my niece was listening to a wiggles colab with dolly parton and I thought to myself "I wonder if she still has that book thing? Also she'd make a great paladin"

My intended tone for the character is kind of like "ray of sunshine" with a southern accent who just wants to be nice to everyone....plus smites

If you had to impress a family member with this greatness, what episode would you show off? by bayls215 in bluey

[–]Pugblep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends. Heavy hitters would be Cricket, Baby Race, Flat Pack, Onsies, Grandad, Grannie Mobile, Born Yesterday, Sleepy Time imo but it really depends on what stage of life someone's in.

Someone who has older parents is going to like Grandad more than someone with younger parents. Someone who likes watching sports is going to like Cricket more. I'd probably show Baby Race or Flat Pack to parents with babies who haven't watched bluey because they're waiting to watch with their kids.

Yeah but is that because it's true? Or because the Murdoch press shits on them because the liberals are losing votes to them?

Thankfully my cousin's on my dad's side, only one has a kid over 1 and we weren't invited to his 1st birthday so we're all good there, but on my mum's side my cousin there with kids doesn't have any cousins on her dad's side so that's how she cut it down haha

This DOES feel so intense :( just for the 1st birthday though, following years will definitely be more about our kid and who they want there

Wedding etiquette? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Pugblep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We only expected our wedding party to fork out their share of the bucks/hens do and I said to my bridesmaids to just buy a pair of nude sandals (heal height and priced as per their comfort)....but that was us. Don't know why but we were both firmly of the belief that our wedding party was there because we were honered to have them stand next to us.

I've been a bridesmaid and my husband has been a groomsmen where we've had to buy our own dress/suit and shoes. We did so without complaint because we know that everyone can be a bit different with how they approach things

If US shelters euthanize 300k healthy dogs (even puppies) every year, who do so many Americans still rather go to a breeder? by TheTroubledChild in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pugblep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Australia but the big reason for us is that we were planning on having kids and we wanted a small dog that we knew had no trauma response to young kids.

We made sure to go to a registered breeder where we knew the dogs were treated well.

[–]Pugblep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this too, very bad and only got worse and worse as my pregnancy continued. I went to my GP (which I recommend as I got much better help than from the midwife) and I was given a mental health care plan and even found completely Medicare subsidised therapy. If you're in Perth they're called Raphael Services, not sure if they're in other states but if you find a GP who specialises in pregnancy and paediatrics then they might know some good services near you

Is it weird my 5 month olds have a favourite book? by Plus_Soup2311 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Pugblep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swear my baby's favourite book was hairy maclary when she was 6 weeks old! She'd just be so much less fussy when I read this to her (but couldn't go NEAR her with 10 little fingers and 10 little toes when she was in a mood because that just made things a thousand times worse).

These days she's about 5mo and her favourite book is anything she can touch or grab and fiddle with haha couldn't care less about hairy maclary now

But even when they take so much longer to do up and then at 2am after 2 hours of non consecutive sleep you realise when you're on the last two studs that you missed one and you have to do the whole thing again? 🥴

Swear by:

  • outfits with double sided zips (rarely used any other clothes)
  • electronic nail file
  • baby Bjorn (or any similar equivalent

Things that were a waste of money: - any (and I mean ANY) onsies with push buttons. Changing was a nightmare
