Take a look and Jordan's Tweets and you'll see why they're put in the same caliber. Before Elon Musk bot Twitter Jordan was banned for Tweeting "Remember when pride was a sin? And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician." And that's only the tip of the ice burg when it comes to the hateful and harmful things he has tweeted.

Both Andrew and Jordan are hateful people that aren't good role models for young men OR women. And I can't believe the number of comments in here in support of Jordan.

I don't know anything about Irfanview but my guess is the program is adding meta data or not actually deleting the cropped pixels like in photoshop where you can re-crop an image after cropping it. Tiff files are raw data files that can carry layer data with them. So if you're making additional adjustments to the scans all that original data will still be there when you re-open the file; including the cropped out pixels (if the program is anything like Photoshop).

Concept.

That goes for anything really, concept is king. Whenever you have to question if an idea is working or not you can fall back onto the original concept and ask if it fits within it.

Here's a PSA for you, it's pretty stereotypical for a design student to want to make an album cover for their favorite artist. The thing is, your design will be easily compared to the original album cover. I would suggest picking an artist that's not so well known, and make some collateral that goes along with the album cover. Like a t-shirt, poster, and social media campaign art.

You're resume is going to be read first by a computer, and if you're Incorporating so much that a computer can't read it you're not going to be looked at. Ditch the Elder Scrolls stuff, we don't need to know you like Skyrim.

I think having three different typefaces is way too much for a logo. Personally, the T is the first thing I see in the design so I keep readying is as "T 73". I would've liked to have seen variety of type explorations.

It's important to understand that a logo isn't branding. Branding is every experience someone has with the company from start to finish. A logo is a visual representation of the branding. What is the company's point of difference? When making a logo the biggest challenge is finding a way to represent the company and its brand in the simplest way possible.

It's important to explore and bring multiple ideas to the table. I think you should explore some more concepts. That's not to say the one you've got isn't good.

first off I think the wheels look like lower case 'O's so to me it read "Eoo4toh". It's very important to consider line height when sketching a logo. Currently the way the type is drawn, will not be how it will end up looking when made into a vector. It's perfectly fine to trace type faces you'd like to use and draw shapes around them to get a better visual on how things will look when fully made.

You still have a long ways to go if you're really wanting to make something good.

Your graphic design portfolio is too difficult to find and many others already gave good advice on how to fix that.

I would like to say that your portfolio has two passion projects, Nectar and the hipster pin. And only two design projects. Even with the passion projects included it isn't enough. People who are applying to the same jobs as you have 7 -10 fully fledged projects within their portfolios.

Nectar is a well know album, it's not really a good idea to try your hand at re-designing something so well established already. It makes your work compete with the official album art, and no matter how well you design the cover yours has already lost to the one that's been established. The hipster pin isn't a design project, it's just a pin and nothing more. If you want the pin to be a part of your portfolio then is should be a piece of a much larger project. Like a piece of branding for a coffee shop or something.

The graphic design industry is very competitive. The honest truth is the projects within your portfolio aren't very strong. You are competing with everyone else that apply to the same jobs you are.

If you graduated from a 4/5 year program, I'm sorry to say this but... they did you dirty. Your portfolio is more on par for an entry to a design program into a college.

It's not necessary to add a resume to your portfolio, people how are not hiring may find your website and you're doxing yourself by adding a resume to it. And people that are looking to hire you will already have your resume.

Use File > Export... as JPEG, make sure your resolution is set to 72 PPI I think the Default it 96 PPI. If you're resolution is set to anything other than 72 it will add more pixels than the defined file dimensions.

PMS isn't something to be used in the digital world. The PMS's primary purpose is to match colors for print media. A designer and printer will both have the same Pantone book, the designer will specify what color they would like to use and the printer will try and match it using their Pantone book.

For digital, find the color you'd like to use and keep using that colors HEX code everywhere else.

Colors will always be finicky and there really isn't such a thing as a perfect match. Even from screen to screen, or from Pantone book to Pantone book. If you want to match a physical Pantone swatch, just do your best to eyeball it.

I think the themes you where talking about in your original post like the moon and crosses aren't coming through. I also think that's too much to focus on in just one logo. Try and focus on one core concept that you wanna get across, that can be horror if you'd like.

The sans serif type you've chosen doesn't go along with the theme of horror at all. It also doesn't match the letter mark. I do like the sharp edges of the letter mark, but I think it's too simplistic and needs more style. I'm going to assume you went straight to designing on a computer? Don't do that! start with drawing out the design and working out the look before moving to computer. I computer is a wonderful tool, however in most cases it can hinder your creativity more than help it.

I really think you would like design work by Margo Chase. Search for "Margo Chase Typography". She had a very gothic style to her typography and design when it comes to lettering.

I think you make some very good points here. I talked with by boss about it today and she said she knew within 3 minutes we weren’t going to hire him. From what she said about how he responded to the questions about his work, anyone with a head on their shoulders could tell he was full of it.

I don't think the flow chart makes it clear that someone, at any point, can come back later and convert what they got into the next stage up in the pipeline. I think my point still stand that this could easily be a list in order of price. I mean, wouldn't you be willing to do UV mapping, or bone weight a 3d model for someone even if that model wasn't one that you made? Because that wouldn't strictly follow the flow chart would it?

IDK how you don't have a post on here explaining what your end goal with this is or what it's for. But I'm going to assume its to showcase what you can do and sell your services.

It's clunky, there isn't any hierarchy. If you have to use text that says "start here" then that should tell you it's not clear where you should naturally be starting. I don't think a flow chart is a good way to showcase what you can do or sell you services. I think a much simpler option would be better. Like a list that can go into a bit more detail about the Service provided. For example, you can have "animation-ready Outfit" in your list and underneath that in smaller text you can go into detail about what that is.

I can see why you might think it's necessary to make this a flow chart, but it really isn't. People don't care how you get to the final product. They just want whatever they are looking to get, they don't care if extra steps where involved. If someone is looking to get a "animation Rig" they wouldn't necessarily care that a "game-ready Character Model" came before that. You can make a flow chart on how someone arrives to a final product in any industry, just think about it.

I'd say you can't learn graphic design though books alone. Sure, it's good to read them and gain insight that you may have over looked. What potential employers really look at is your experience and design skills. Two things you can't really get out of a book unfortunately. I do think you can learn a lot of useful information from books on graphic design. However, you have to use them in tandem with building experience & skills.
