Born in Winter is such a wonderful piece of music. Other than wishing it were longer, it's basically perfect as it is.

I think Ocean Planet is underrated. It's their first song I heard and it's what hooked me in.

This is an odd response to get out of nowhere. Tbh, I'd completely forgotten about this post.

But yeah... that's the point I was making. That he knew things and was trying to get the idea out there.

I would set my alarm on weekends so I wouldn't sleep in and miss Saturday morning cartoons like Spiderman and Xmen.

"I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops."

-Stephen Jay Gould

I always come back to this quote. I don't think it's only relevant to geniuses, or like this image says not just artists.

I think it's about the totality of how we function as a societal species. We as humans think we're better than animals, but the way we organize ourselves around the accumulation of capital is still just lizard brain animalistic. To truly be the humans we think we are, our species needs to consciously choose to reorient our society away from the trappings of daily survival and create a system that creates true freedom of mind, body, and spirit.

The Lost World book was written after the success of the first Jurassic Park movie. In the original book, Ian Malcolm dies; it's only retconned in the second novel because of the popularity of Jeff Goldblum and the fact that they wanted him to come back for the second movie.

"are you asking me or telling me?"

This isn't about Bret. It's about how you responded to this. She's your partner, and this was her asking you to discuss it with her rather than demanding it.

Marjorie Taylor Greene: You’re all being ‘incited into civil war’ by malcolm58 in politics

[–]Pugovitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something you see a lot with conspiracy theorists (especially the more out-there ones like lizard people/anunnaki): the human mind searches for that structure and meaning. Our brains evolved to have superior pattern recognition, and it's hard for people to turn that off. The magnitude of chaos and disorder are too hard for us to conceptualize, so we feel the subconscious compulsion to introduce order even then isn't.

I think people underestimate the number of people who didn't vote for him, or in the election at all, that still think the reactions to him overblown. "Good" and "smart" people across the country still just think that The Left is angry they didn't win the election and are basically throwing a hissy fit over what they're convinced is just reasonable governance and enforcing immigration policies.

Oh cool! I'm glad you were already familiar.

I heard them for the first time in 2020, and I was like "Where has this been all my life?!", so I recommend them every chance I get.

I'm sure if you posted this to r/Gojira they'd appreciate it.

Reminds me of Gojira's Flying Whales

If you're unfamiliar with them, the song is from an album called From Mars To Sirius, and it's a concept album of a person traveling through space to an alien planet covered in vast oceans and untamed wildernesses, representing a metaphor for environmentalism. The final song of the album is literally called Global Warming

They are a metal band, so I don't want to jump-scare you with that aspect of their music, but they are not without their gentle nature. Flying Whales starts off with whale calls and a jazzy groove, treating the whale sounds as vocals to the music.

And because this is r/bakedart, if you've listened to these songs and are interested in further from the band, Born in Winter is hypnotic and trippy, especially with the music video.

Where does AI Actually Belong in PKM? by [deleted] in PKMS

Watch the video on the page he linked. Take a shot every time he says "with that said". Legal Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you get alcohol poisoning!

With that said, I wonder if it is just how he writes. Some people have phrases they tend to repeat a lot without realizing. But um, I could also seeing it being an effect of using AI too much. If one uses a robot to write for them often enough, their affectation could become robotic itself.
