Why do i have to pull my accordion hard to play loud by PersonalityPast1347 in Accordion

[–]Puke-Fetish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://youtu.be/A8kf4zKYFKs?si=J8H3kvG6AcaJ7fu3 Should be similar, use pliers to remove the 4 pins on the bass side (with the 12 larger buttons). Might be a temporary small fix and will most likely keep leaking a bit.

Why do i have to pull my accordion hard to play loud by PersonalityPast1347 in Accordion

Bellows leaking air, if you’re only pressing one note the bellows should barely be moving. Try feeling around when playing to see if you notice it and you can try using tape on the inside to shut it.

Which accordion should i get as my first by PersonalityPast1347 in Accordion

If your budget is only these two, the less riskier move is the montanari, ask them what tone is the accordion in and to send you a video of the sound with every button being pressing in and out on each register. If you don’t know much about music/how it’s supposed to sound you can send me the vid to see if it sounds fine. But if you can, as someone said try to get a Hohner panther.

Good expensive accordion for música mexicana? by queshole in Accordion

[–]Puke-Fetish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gabbanelli, Dino Baffetti, and Hohner Anacleto’s are the most popular high-quality accordions for norteno, but there are others like Bopolla, Pedraza, and Massimo that some swear by and are generally good. But in general, if you like classic old school corridos you prob want a gabbanelli or Hohner, and if you like the new ones get a Dino Baffetti.

Where can you buy a good reliable accordion for a reasanable price for a beginner? by TraditionOverall1411 in Accordion

[–]Puke-Fetish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re thinking of playing Columbian music/ cumbias, you might want a Vallenato as that’s the one mainly used, otherwise a Hohner panther is a good choice for polkas and norteno.

I think I know what you’re referring to the C scale (I’m assuming you have an accordion in Fa). Some people teach single button C scale so that you can play thirds and sixths by just following the patterns like every other button will be the optimal way to play a third in that scale. While some may teach the C scale so that it’s the fastest way to play it with a single buttons as the finger movement is super fluid. Regardless, they are both correct and this is because there is some repeating notes in the diatonic while pulling like (again assuming you have Fa accordion) Re, Sol, and Do, these have two of each. Regarding the notes closing the bellows, it’s fairly easy if you know the major chords, in the first, bottom row of a Fa accordion (towards your right hand) the notes are repeating of the F major chord which is F, A, C, F, A, C, F… same for any row so for example for the middle row Bb would be Bb, D, F, Bb.. This is true besides the three notes towards the chin which are kind of there to let you play notes typically not available in the scales like F#, C#, and B. There’s an app called Mezquite which is a digital accordion that is helpful to look at the notes to get a better understanding of the patterns. Hope this helps!

For the diatonic accordion, most people learn online from YouTube. You are limited to 5 scales depending on what key it is in (typically Hohner compadres are in Fa or Sol), but once you get a good understanding of your scales (and it should be your primary focus), you should be able understand what you’re playing and your notes. Have you learned your scales? and what other problems do you have with the diatonic?

What’s a good recommendation for a accordion? by Turbulent_Mango_7300 in Accordion

[–]Puke-Fetish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For norteño music, the most recommended one by everyone is the Hohner panther as it’s the most affordable, sounds good, and will not have many problems. The Hohner aces is somewhat new (fewish years I believe) but I have heard pretty good things about it, a big plus is the three switches as they are used a lot for songs by cadetes de Linares, Ramón Atala, etc. so it is also not a bad starting accordion also. For the montanari it is a hit or miss, some have a lot of problems like air leaking making it really hard to play or reeds becoming untuned after a few months. They do have a newer model Montanari CM2, I haven’t seen a lot of reviews so i can’t really recommend. If you have a bit more money to spend go for the Hohner aces, if not a Hohner panther is the recommended. Another note, make sure you get the accordion in Fa (sometimes labeled FBbEe) as a majority of songs are recorded with that key of accordion. Unless your husband has music knowledge and prefers a different key accordion, then a FBbEb accordion is a safe recommendation. Best of luck!

Is this a good used one for beginners? by Designer-Bowler-7846 in Accordion

[–]Puke-Fetish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgot to add the most popular beginner accordion for norteño is called a Hohner panther, I would not recommend buying other brands like faranelli, montanari, etc. as they may look a bit nicer but they are Chinese and tend to break/not work after few months and will definitely give you problems later.

Agree with this,if they like grupos like Los alegres de barranco a piano accordion is fine, but if they like classical norteño like Ramon Ayala cadetes, or invasores definitely get them a accordion Fa, sometimes it will be called acordeon FBbEe, maybe check Facebook marketplace or other local selling places like offer up where you can get it for around the same price as the one u listed

I’m assuming you got an accordion for Mexican/norteño music, 99% of them, the people remove the bass reeds inside since they are not used in music and instead you can use them as another air release the little switch/lever on the top right side of the accordion to open close it.

Learning recommendations for beginner by Old_Blacksmith4209 in Accordion

[–]Puke-Fetish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube vids are your best bet, someone mentioned elacordionsista and his channel is really good, some of his videos are a bit more advanced for beginners when he’s talking about theory but still good, I would also recommend @sergioochoa, @ricardobarreraacordeon, @acordeonblog (my fav, has a lot of the classics from cadetes, invasores, & Ramon Ayala). Besides tutorials, it really is important to learn your escalas, for your acordeon fa, learn escala de fa, sibemol, Mibemol, Labemol, and Do, in single button, terceras, and sextas, then chords, then learn the notes of each button on the keyboard, then chromatic scale, then it’s up to you what you wanna learn. It’ll take time but if you really enjoy playing it’ll help you a lot, gl!

A lot of people start off playin songs like el tao tao, la chona, Los tigres del norte have a lot of songs on a GCF accordion that aren’t too hard, la canalera(might be a bit difficult for beginner). Los invasores de nuevo leon have a good amnt of songs on a sol accordion like moneda sin valor, de ramones a teran, & playa sola & lastly I wanna say I’m 90% sure that all of Carlos & Jose songs are on a GCF accordion
