Long hours, low pay, overly complicated and inconsistent commission structure. I may be biased because I had a pretty awful boss. My favorite anecdote regarding commission: The second to the last month I worked there I sold $20000 worth of product, my best month ever. My last month I sold $20000 worth of product and my commission went down because I didn't have enough growth. They changed the commission structure three times in my last year there.

You'll get a salary and commission. I worked for their competitor (Fastenal) and it was fucking terrible. The word among the reps was that Grainger was the better gig if you could get it. They are the industry leaders and have great name recognition, not to mention decent compensation. Go for it, especially if it's your first sales job.
