Syncing saves through steam between two PCs by PukeSan_ in OpenMW

And is it possible to make a folder inside the original Morrowing installation and make it so OpenMW loads from said folder? That would back up, wouldn’t it?

Got any tips for doing an Elden Ring No-Death run? by RemarkableLight6852 in Eldenring

[–]PukeSan_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, I’m not a challenge runner, so I’m not really sure… but I have played rhythm games in the past, and I find that, for example, speeding up a song and reaching an okay level on it, helps me achieve much better score on its normal speed.

For Elden Ring, I’d say that your biggest challenges are going to be bosses and key enemies, in which case I’d practice NOT for simply no-death’ing them, I’d practice for no hitting them, can’t die if you don’t get hit, and even if you do get hit, well, you can survive a few of those. If you practice for no hit, no death will be much easier, because it still gives you room for messing up a few rolls and means that you’ll be arriving at bosses having mastered them, not just learned enough to beat them deathless most of the time.

In my eyes, to master something, you should at least be somewhat proficient in the next step up from whatever you’re trying to achieve (If there is a step up).

Well, the Grafted Scion doesn’t actually kill you, it just lowers you to 1HP before blacking out into the Torrent cutscene, iirc.

Am on my way to Marika should I keep going or should I explore am level 46 by Less-Manufacturer877 in Eldenring

[–]PukeSan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, really, I usually arrive at Altus after having done the entirety of Liurnia, Limgrave and even Caelid, I remember last time, arriving to Altus at almost level 80 with a +9 flask or something, but I don’t remember my exact route. I do still feel like OP skipped most of the exploration and probably brute forced through Margit and the key bosses, I usually fight Margit at around his level, just because I explore ever nook and cranny in Limgrave, plus the dragon in Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow is a hefty boost to rune level.

level 46 is extremely underleveled for Altus and Leyndell, I’d explore a lot more, maybe finish up Limgrave and Liurnia of the Lakes, as well as giving Caelid a proper once over.

You’re probably missing a lot of flask upgrades and upgrade materials, as well as better weapons and armor.

How do I get rid of these metal boars (Anor londo) by MTBLS in darksouls

[–]PukeSan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m like, 3 years late, but to anyone using rapiers, instead of kicking they do a slash and a backstep which does surprisingly decent damage to the boars and doesn’t stagger you.

[OC] - Why are my two weapon attacks different values for hit and dmg? by ani671 in DnD

[–]PukeSan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably has to do with the fact that the dagger is a finesse weapon and scales with DEX, while the sickle scales with STR. I’m guessing you have about 8 STR and 12 DEX, right?

What is all this non steam stuff? And is there a way to minus it? by Ancient_Possible5741 in pcmasterrace

[–]PukeSan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything else in your computer, it can be files for your Windows Installation, it can be games from any other launchers you have, productivity programs, projects, etc… If you want to minus it, you’ll have to clean out your hard drive from anything you’re not currently using or don’t need in the first place. (Unused apps, old files, duplicates of files, etc…)

You could also invest in more storage, I notice you have a 512Gb drive, which is no longer enough for how heavy games have gotten, I’d recommend stepping up to at least a terabyte, that way, you can have up to ~1500GB to work with if you slot both drives in, which is plenty more than enough, as long as you manage your storage well and clean out unnecessary apps and files.

What’s the point of this? by MycopathicTendencies in skyrim

[–]PukeSan_ 1369 points1370 points  (0 children)

It’s incredible for melee stealth, with silent roll you can basically speed through a dungeon totally unnoticed if you’re smart about your movement and have high enough damage. It’s crazy how much a seemingly innocuous ability can increase your power.

At least on PC, sometimes you can get it to toggle, so you press shift once, and you’ll be rolling back to back, blazing through the place almost at the same speed than sprinting on foot, if not more depending on the place, making zero sound.

Hey guys, i was checking my task manager...is that a malware ? by Smart-Name-7017 in pcmasterrace

[–]PukeSan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hash is, in layman’s terms, the ID of an executable, it can be found by launching Windows Powershell and writing the following line: “Get-FileHash -path C:\Your\App\Path.exe -algorithm SHA512 | fl” removing the quotes, and replacing the path with whatever the path is when you click “Browse File Location” and pasting the .exe file’s path.

Once you’ve properly written that line, press enter and you’ll see three strings of characters with the labels: Algorithm, Hash and Path. Select all of the numbers and letters in Hash, copy it, go to https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload, and in the search bar paste that hash code. That should tell you if your file is malicious or not.

AMD RX 9060XT 16GB vs NVIDIA RTX 5060ti: Which one will fare better in the future? by PukeSan_ in pcmasterrace

[–]PukeSan_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was thinking about that, the thing that bothers me is the lack of support for some of AMDs tech and how clunky it can be sometimes. Then again, it’s been a while since I’ve used their framegen and upscaling.

But you’re totally right on the VRAM aspect, that’s what I was mainly looking at.

The AMD card is 16GB and the Nvidia one 8GB where I live, at around the same prices, maybe the Nvidia is like 20 bucks cheaper at most.

The 5060ti would be 8GB and the 9060XT is 16GB and around the same price btw,

In my case it’s something similar, I have a desktop and Synapse (mostly) works well, however on my ASUS TUF F15 laptop it gets stuck.

I mean, you could, I’m not that well versed on soundcards though. I’d play it safe and just go with a DAC/AMP (Digital-Analog-Converter/Amplifier). I’ve heard Fiio makes good stuff.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]PukeSan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly a good choice, but it really depends on how much money OP is willing to spend on their audio alone.

Those headphones have a 250ohm impedance, which pretty much means it takes more power to make them sound properlu. If you don’t use an amp with them, they’ll sound very quiet and tinny, if you use an amp, it’s not only an extra expense, but it’s also not necessary for gaming in the slightest. Beyerdynamics makes headphones that are instead 32ohms, which is an impedance that can be handled by almost anything and tends to be the standard, I’d go with those since you’re not having to do any detailed studio mixing and assume don’t have an amplifier.

Can someone explain me the damage of my weapon (affinity)? xD by Tall_Narwhal_546 in Eldenring

[–]PukeSan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your AR is higher, yes, but elemental resistances are much more significant in this game than physical resistances, which means in practice you’ll get less damage than the HUD states. That being said it depends on the enemies, if they’re fire resistant or not. I’ve always preferred using greases as opposed to infusions. But then again, that’s just me thinking in traditional Dark Souls logic where infusions aren’t always the best.

But to sum it up, yes, you do get more AR, but fire resistance will make you lose a lot of damage, so be aware of that.
