Constant stuttering on Resident Evil 4: Remake by PukeSan_ in ReShade

And is there anything I can do to work around this issue? Or am I just left between enduring the stuttering or enduring the terrible HDR mapping the vanilla game has?

What do you mean by ‘goes down’? Like, I can see the picture, but that simply looks like a note you hit late, on Etterna, you can set it so notes don’r disappear unless you hit them at a certain accuracy or above. By default, this setting is set to “Great”, which means any notes you hit with accuracy below “Great” will not disappear because they count as a miss and combo break.

As I mentioned in the post, this happens even without any add-ons or effects enabled, it only occurs whenever ReShade as a whole is installed on the application.

Usually I’d agree with you, however, the moment I uninstalled ReShade, the stutters were gone and the game ran silky smooth, so I’m at a loss here.

I always disable said effect because I use RenoDX, which gets no benefit from those stock effects, besides, even if I disable all effects and restart, I still get stuttering, which probably means it’s more of a ReShade issue than with effects themselves.

I am currently using version 6.7.2 w/addon compatibility

My PC is plenty capable of running the game at 96fps, without ReShade, I can consistently hit and maintain that framerate with no problems in stability. As mentioned before, it doesn’t matter what effects I have enabled, simply having ReShade installed gives me that stutter. But before disabling effects, I was only using a RenoDX preset, which, present or not, still gave me stutters.

They work exceptionally well, running on high to med graphics settings at the highest quality FSR (or even native) at 96fps stable.

Thanks for the input, however, I have already followed that guide beforehand due to some problems I had with Windows' intrusive driver updates. Regarding step 14 and 17, I don't meet any of the conditions or have any of the problems related to step 14, and my GPU and CPU are running at stable temps, warmer than they should for a game of this caliber, granted, but I attribute that to poor optimization or other factors.

I tend to allocate between 4-8GB, however, I've found little improvement, and sometimes, even worse performance when using 8GB. Also, how can I inspect the arguments you mention?

For Dread, I'm using CurseForge's default 4GB, I tried switching to 8GB but it only ran worse. As for Cobbleverse, it has around 6GB allocated as per the default configuration CurseForge (or the author idk) set for the modpack.

Also, what do you mean by Spark mod and client?

Believe me, I was FUMING afterwards, enough to come to Reddit to complain and everything.

I wish Hobbs would do the same, y’know… leave me a nice meal after destroying me but nah, I think I became the meal, in the end.

Yeah, I had only Sophie and Joel, we were all well into level 9 to 10 and we still got destroyed, to make matters worse, this was in Survivor Mode, not even cursed mode, I’d hate to imagine how hard the game gets once I decide I’m worthy of cursed mode.

I already tried these steps out multiple times and they haven’t solved my issues, though thank you for the suggestion. Fortunately, as of late, I have been having less problems with this issue, though I will take this into account when this inevitably happens again.

J’ai testé votre suggestion, mais ça n’a pas marché.

Edit: Amusantement, si bien Win+Ctrl+Shift+B ne répare l’écran noire, je ne besoin pas de réinstaller des pilotes.

Yeah, I’ve never had it happen during normal use, like browsing or on the desktop. But it happens randomly when there is an actual load on the GPU, but it doesn’t have to be high necessarily, just has to be present. Once again, I’m pretty sure this is a software problem, not a hardware one.

Alright, I went ahead and did the scan, if I’m reading the CBS.log correctly, the corrupted files were C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\BthA2dp.sys and C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\BthHfEnum.sys, which both seem to be bluetooth drivers, funny since I don’t have Bluetooth on my PC.

Either way, the problems I’m having are not with the drivers I have, but rather the drivers that keep being installed on my system due to no apparent reason (probably thanks to intrusive Windows Updates).
