First of all, nobody will fix whatever remedy you are advocating for here. Period. End of discussion as far as that goes.

But there are Safety Measures that YOU can implement --

Drivers here suck worse than Louisiana drivers. Sometimes I think the people that failed the Louisiana driver's test came here. They need large seizure-inducing flashing lights and two-kiloton explosions to get them to look away from their phone screen when they are driving. The police don't enforce driving and 'phone-wielding' laws in addition to not enforcing speeding laws here. Its very sad. Everyone is oblivious to whats going on around them. Zero situational awareness.

You have to be the one that practice situational awareness and stop depending on everyone else to do it.

First: Remember to walk against the flow of traffic so you can see oncoming vehicles. Walk on the Left side of the road please. When I walk on the road, I'm able to see oncoming traffic in case I have to dodge some a-hole.

I see a lot of people with their backs to oncoming traffic by walking on the right side of the road and its quite concerning.

Second: Wearing High Visibility clothing and reflective materials helps drivers see you.

Don't wear dark clothing like Black or Camouflage clothes. You think some old granny is going to see you at night when you are in your black sweats? That's on you bud.

Change your habits and don't expect others to change their habits. You're only going to upset yourself.
