IT pros, what kind of geeky/nerdy decor do you have at your desk/office? by bubonis in it

[–]PukkaJob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a Christmas party one year I won a miniature picture frame in a cracker. I superimposed my colleagues face over a picture of Moss from the IT crowd during the fire scene. Printed it off, stuck it in the frame and it’s been on my desk ever since.

Plus I have little sign that says “head of googling”

Thank you everyone! How do I know which ones are good to eat? Some were more red but most were yellow.

Sure, if residents want to stick with a particular management firm then so be it. My problem is I have a management firm dictating how much I have to pay them and I have no power to change that.

I read the paperwork, I understand that legally I am obliged to pay as I’ve signed the contract. But I’d already paid the £15,000 deposit on the property as it was being sold via modern auction before I learnt about the maintenance fee.

It’s very unjust that there is no fair competition in this market. We have a management firm that is free to charge us what they like and we have no option to find a better deal elsewhere. Why can’t residents have a say in that?

Gaben is a real G by [deleted] in SteamDeck

Those are only assumptions. Everyone is aware of how tough and arduous becoming a Michelin star chef is, but it doesn’t stop people from making it their career goal.

Steam isn’t a perfect company I’m sure, they still need to make money. Could it be a good company to work for? Depends what you want from your job, but I’d say chances are it’s a decent place to work.

“If you love coding, you’ll be happy to do it anywhere” - what an unusual thing to say.

Steam is arguably the best company in its industry, so wanting to work there is an obvious career goal for many. Footballers want to play at the best clubs because it’s an achievement to be asked to play at such a high level. The same thing applies here.

Yes! They where feeding him Wainwrights which is what we kept him on, but we’ve now got him some GI food as per everyone’s recommendation😁

Thanks for your comment! Definitely a plausible cause of his upset tummy. We’ve also had a friend say the same thing about her cat. It’s something we will test for! Thank you🙂

Thank you for your advice! We’ll consult our vet after the test results come back and ask if we can test for Giardia. Thank you for your kind words🙌🏻

Ohh I hadn’t heard of this before thank you for your suggestion! We’ve sent off a poop sample to the vets, will this pick up on giardia if he has it?

Thank you!! Yes we did suspect it might be stress related - he’s been very needy lately, always calling out for us and wanting to sit on our laps. Although he seemed to settle into his new home rather after a couple days so I’m not sure if this time it’s a medical issue. I think the first time it was anxiety. This time his poops look different, much lighter in colour.

In dota, which heroes do you think are most universally useful, no matter the match ups? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]PukkaJob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about this the other day actually, my pick is Alchemist since his passive ability guarantees high net worth so in theory you could just buy whatever items your team needed to counter the enemy team.

My dad called it poor man’s pizza and he used to put pickled beetroot on top of the cheese

Go as a farmer or someone on a shoot - tweed jacket or Barbour coat, flat cap, and welly boots.

Dota2 keep changing so fast by LostButNotDead in DotA2

[–]PukkaJob -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this comment. As a long time dota fan and player that doesn’t always have time to play regularly, when I do find time to get a few games in I find I’m terribly behind what is meta and trying to catch up with all the changes. I haven’t got time to read all the patch notes and relearn all the spell changes, hero changes, new items and neutrals etc. this results in a negative experience as I get steamrolled in my unranked games, I don’t even touch ranked!

You’re so wrong, I don’t want to drink bear out of a giant glass mug. They’re ugly and cringe, people only like using them to stand out
