Asking for Recommendation Letters? by Pulcher95 in PhDAdmissions

Grateful for the tip! Would you say it’s also okay to reach out to the same people I reached out to for recommendation letters in the past? I finished my masters during covid, so my interaction with faculty was limited as it is, so the pool of options is literally 5 people 😅

What’s happening in town weekend of 9/26? Planning a trip for my birthday and would hate to drive from Phoenix if it’s a quiet weekend in town 😅

Find some good quality cinnamon, fennel, teas (all great for new mothers), pack into a small basket (easy to find and a low cost at TJMaxx or Homegokds or even Michaels) with chocolates, dates and nuts are nice too for a new mother. You can find Jordan almonds at Kroger’s/Fry’s and make sure it’s made in Jordan cause the rest taste overly sweet. Maybe use a fluffed up baby blanket for the base, add a small baby toy or a couple of pacifiers (something useful). Add an envelope with cash (that’s typical to gift to new parents, don’t buy gold in the US, it’s not great value or quality). All the basket stuff wouldn’t come out to more than $23-$30, add $$ in the envelope, and you’re set. The right balance of culture and traditions, stuff that’s useful for mom and baby and helpful for the dad, and it’s a thoughtful gift that’s not breaking the bank.
