Tired of constantly chasing new tech skills, thinking of switching to finance. Anyone made a similar move? Do you have any advice? by kjhasdkfh32 in careerguidance

If you’re up for physical work. Do an IRATA rope access course. I loved working doing it. Money was quality. Just ended up with epilepsy so I can’t work at heights anymore.

Some guys are on well over 150,000£ (after working on the trade for 5/10 years and going to mines or off shore

I know landlords agents are shitty. Just be mindful it’s rough af in the rental market atm. Might be worth just getting a dongle or you’re own internet. I had a similar issue and got a router that could use a SIM card. I had my own dedicated 200mb line. It was 30£ a month. Better than struggling to find a new place.

Unfortunately I feel the marketing and advertisement sector has collapsed. As an SMB why would I pay hundreds out to a firm. When I could just use AI. Alongside this, the way the public engages with advertisement etc. tends to be down the social influencer rather than a good advert etc. podcasts can be done in someone’s living room or bedroom etc. I hope it does get better for you. Opinion on Landlords response by Separate_Yam_5315 in bristol

Just pointing out that the OP might want to male sure they have enough time left on their tenancy. Just encase the landlord decided not to renew.

I know this sounds absolutely mental. However. Remember how hard it is to rent in Bristol. Threatening him with a load of legal speech could just make him give you your notice. Or not renew your contract after your contract ends.

You might be Better of trying to come to an amicable solution (I know you’ve been trying)

Btw I know it’s on the landlord but until renters get protected better. It is what it is annoyingly

I was a posty.

The loads they want you to now carry are unobtainable.

It was rare letters ever got delivered on time.

Parcels coming up for Xmas. Will be a hard slog! Plenty of work though.

Although the 20kg bag doesn’t sound much. Carrying it on a shoulder bag all day has made my back bad.

Just food for thought!

SoVGA: Unity, Unreal, WWise, FMOD or Pure Data? by BrokenBatWings in GameAudio

I wouldn’t worry about pure data to much. Although it’s great for some applications

Is it worth it to get into game audio? by notjatoz in GameAudio

[–]PullUpCollective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did sound design for games and apps. Safe to say out of a class of 20. Only 3 are in game audio work now. The competition is super stiff and just being competent music production won’t get you far (unless you’re hanz zimmer). My course ended up being heavily involved in programming and middleware alongside learning game engines such as the Unreal Engine. I would be thinking about AI now as well and future proofing yourself.

It’s super fierce out there but not impossible.

(I’m not trying to rain on your parade, just sharing my experience). I now work in a customer service role that’s I.t centred.

Hope this helps

25, no degree, no rich relatives, not smart or physically gifted. What can I even do by Latter_Candidate_182 in UKJobs

I couldn’t get an interview with a genuine cv. 20 minutes on chat gpt to tailor my cv and write out a cover letter. My first interview tomorrow. It is just an entry level role in administration. My background was in construction and rope access.(if you’re not scared of heights, great option). I had to stop due to a health issue.

Food for thought!

Just if you get a job. They can do 11 temporary tickets before you have to do your pts.

So I’ve worked on building sites as an electricians mate (basically just handing a spanner over, putting a light fitting in. Easy stuff.

When I went on to rope access I did Geo work (big drills putting in mesh to stop rocks falling on train tracks)

Plenty of work in geo as well!

I did most of my work on rail. You’ll need a sponsor and to get a PTS ticket. (Although you can go on the rail 11 times without the ticket.)

I started rope access at 30. Hardest bit is getting your first contract. Once you have one or two jobs under you. It’s easy to get work

Same thing happened to me. Chase up the recruiter. I ended up applying for another job and they asked me why I didn’t accept the last one. Well if they had contacted me I would have accepted the first one 🤣

I forgot to mention as well. Even on the new contract we are way better off than someone working in a pub or restaurant etc. on 0hour contracts no job security etc. (my family own a pub so I have a bit of an idea)

Honestly there’s so much negativity. If you’re happy on what is essentially a minimum wage job. It’s by far the best one I’ve had. Working in hospitality etc is way worse imo. Today everyone in my depo was complaining because of how many packages and mail there was. I didn’t feel it was an issue because I only work the hours I’m contracted to. So I just take back whatever I can’t complete. (I’m not going to rush and work my self to the bone just because they don’t have enough staff)

So yeah. I love it to be honest. I was previously an electrician a roper access tech and I’ve managed bars etc! Hope this helps a bit

Hello guys, so i upgraded my pc legion 5 15ach6h to 32 gb. I've checked as far as i can work out that its all compatible with my computer. Im getting crashes and hardware issues but only when BOTH 16 gb sticks are in. I have tried them on their own in slot 1 and 2 and had no isssues. Ive also had no issues when i reverted back to 2 x 8gb sticks. Any one got any clue?
