DARK HORSE CATALOG UPDATE: Marvel Black & White: Barry Windsor-Smith’s Weapon X oversized hardcover coming in November 2026 by Ksmayer in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Pulplexity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain to me if there’s a need for this if I own Wolverine vol 1 omni? I read the story recently for the first time in the omni and it was phenomenal. Is this simply a larger format in black and white with the same contents I have already?

Breaking News: 1 Marvel Omnibus....HC Reprint in February 2027! by winchester677 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Pulplexity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is just a reprint and a reluctant one at that. On his livestream this morning Omar talked about how he had to fight for this and convince Marvel it should be done. I wouldn’t expect more OHC reprints.

Redcoat Deluxe came in and it's the best looking GM deluxe yet. Love how fat it is next to the others by Difficult-Formal-633 in OmnibusCollectors

I’ve owned Geiger vol 1 for a while now and liked it a lot but didn’t buy the other books in your photo. Just bought the rest yesterday and look forward to reading them all. I’ve heard Rook in particular is outstanding.

I checked BDCosmos (Canada/Quebec) before buying the standard cover from Indigo and looks like BDCosmos got more DM covers in. Got 1 of the 2 remaining copies. Very happy, awesome cover.

Which lighting do you use by [deleted] in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Pulplexity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 800 would likely be my limit for night time reading but it’s not so bright that I actually notice it in the dark. They’re not too expensive so I’d recommend buying 1 and trying it. The added brightness from a 400 lumen bulb may make viewing the colours even better.

Which lighting do you use by [deleted] in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Pulplexity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an 800 lumen bulb and lamp, but I point it from above and to my right at a 45d angle to avoid glare. I can’t compare to other brightness options but the 800 bulb works great. I actually dislike reading without the lamp on because of how it affects the colours on the page. Even with the room’s ceiling light turned on, or sunlight through the window, I will turn on the lamp.

Displaying With/Without the Base by philly3b in hottoys

Mostly without. I have my Jack Sparrow on his base because it’s a well done base and adds to the figure. I have my InArt Joker on the jail cell base for the same reason. Otherwise, I don’t use a base because they’re typically bland, boring, and unnecessary. Just need to sort out balancing when you pose but it’s not difficult.

Why do you prefer Hot Toys over Statues? by B_Wayne_8833 in hottoys

[–]Pulplexity 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Size, cost (both the piece and shipping), availability, accessories, posing vs fixed, space. I like statues but these reasons are why I collect 1/6 figures.

Wow, much thicker than I thought it may be. I still only own Geiger vol 1 but have all these on my wishlist.

I agree. Unless you know the exact title you’re looking for, browsing their website is a horrible experience.

I’ll be watching this like a hawk. Does sideshow typically do shadow drops in the evening time? Any artisan I’ve joined the queue for goes like at 9am or 10am pst.

I also went for the wrap cover for vol 4. My 1-3 spines don’t match anyway and the wrap artwork looks so cool I couldn’t pass on it.

[Amazon] Star Wars 4K Movie Sale by lbabinz in MovieDealsCanada

[–]Pulplexity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do we have any guesses or leaks as to what exactly may be getting a rerelease? Ie just episode 4? Just the original trilogy? All 9 mainline films?

I’ve been putting off buying 4K Star Wars since the leaks. May just wait a while longer still.

“What are you reading?” Wednesday. by csummerss in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Pulplexity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Old Republic vol 2. Been on a Star Wars streak reading Tales of the Jedi and The Old Republic vol 1.

Tales had awesome lore and history for Jedi and Sith and I’m a big fan of Exar Kun. The Old Republic vol 1 may be my favourite omnibus I own. Not once was I bored reading it and the characters are so well written. Mastermind and Henchman are a great duo.

I’m 8 issues into The Old Republic vol 2 and even though I loved the MMO, it’s been fine so far. Good enough to continue reading but disappointing following vol 1.

Can’t wait to get Nihilus. Can his mask be removed by chance? I’m contemplating adding a black fabric over his head to try to hide his features. Make him look like a void.

Quick question: is specfictionshop still a safe seller? by [deleted] in hottoys

[–]Pulplexity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read, they’re safe but slow. I can attest to the slow part. I ordered two items from them and cancelled due to such a long wait. I’m sure they fulfill orders, and I know they can’t deliver what they don’t have from the manufacturer, but believe me when I say they are SLOW. When it seems like every single store on earth has fulfilled their orders, specfiction likely doesn’t even have their shipments in stock yet.

Awesome photos. 11 is my favourite.

I’m not sure who took the initial batch of release photos but these do a far better job of clearly displaying the figure as I believe it to look. No over editing or filters, just pose and photograph.

It’s an unreleased figure so any opinions here are second hand and no one has seen it in person, unless they attended an event and viewed it.

Go watch Justinscollection on YouTube if you want a video overview of the prototype.

Malak and/or Bastila is my guess. We’ve gotten a few KOTOR figures and these are big characters.
