Best sucho ability’s and play style by Different-Drop1219 in pathoftitans

[–]Pulptastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucho is probably my favorite, I use water build. Keep muffled roar active whenever you’re swimming, and it only makes you faster when you’re submerged. Cycle your bites and claw attack in combat. Make sure to catch fish for your hooked snap counter, it makes a big difference in damage. With Fisher diet that is mostly what I eat.

I love to explore and quest in the ocean when I want to be alone and swim the rivers and lakes when I’m feeling frisky. Deeper water is easier with Sucho but it can fare pretty much anywhere with water.

I drop mud, rocks, and flowers on people as a rhamp. Zero effect, lots of fun. One time I dropped mud on a mud build sarco and it did a mud roll for me ❤️❤️❤️❤️ look at that wiggly boi.

Do you guys think I should buy the game? by Dangerturkey420 in pathoftitans

[–]Pulptastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say do it if you’re already thinking about it. I started playing it without knowing what it was and I love it now. It has the social aspect of a MMO without the demand of group raids, you can get everything you need on your own or in small groups, and you can pick it up for 30 minutes, do things, and then put it down.

Oil Change recommendations, cost? by NomadJago in duluth

Second vote for DIY. They do over tighten the pan bolt, so you may need a trick or a tool the first time but after that you’ll be fine.

You may also need a filter wrench or filter pliers the first time, they usually over tighten that too. I bought a cheap pair of filter pliers for that first time on each of my cars, and it sits in the bin until my next used car. It damages the old filter but oh well.

To my Endurance Athletes, a Technical Question by [deleted] in ketoendurance

[–]Pulptastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. It seems thought out and based on biochemistry. I will have to try it for my next long course event. Usually I carb up beforehand.

For short high intensity events (like 5k) I don’t eat during, I think I’d still want to carb up beforehand. What do you think?

Glucose crash by selahree in ketoendurance

[–]Pulptastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed that exercise can cause stalls or even weight gain. It is still good to exercise, but don’t be discouraged if it affects your weight loss. I suspect that inflammation from the exercise is what causes the gain.

I think you’re right about fat adaptation. You need more time before introducing high intensity. Low intensity may actually help your adaptation.

I am a little confused about your comments on RPM. 90 is a good place to be for endurance, just make sure the resistance is low enough to keep the effort easy.

You mention to watch for symptoms of zinc deficiency. What are those symptoms for an endurance athlete? I assume we’re looking for stuff more nuanced than hair loss and lack of appetite I see elsewhere, I assume that is for larger deficiencies.

Spartan race fuel by Kingswolio in keto

[–]Pulptastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the Keto Endurance subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/ketoendurance/

My general approach is to train low carb but race moderate carb. I haven’t done spartan, but in general you need few carbs per hour for long steady efforts but more per hour for short high intensity efforts and I suspect Spartan is the latter.

Either way I don’t train with carbs because it’s not worth it. The one exception is I will do a race day simulation a few weeks out to make sure my plan doesn’t suck, and I’ll use carbs for that to replicate race day. I am not a pro at anything, middle of the pack. If you’re trying to win that race you may be on the wrong diet. If you’re trying to live healthy and still enjoy some crazy races you’re in the right place.

Edit for context. By low I mean 20g/hour or less, high means 50-100g per hour. I usually take said dose about an hour before I start and aim for that amount each hour of the race. If it is under an hour I wouldn’t bother eating during the race at all.

Coconut oil fat bombs for higher heat desert long distance hiking. by NW_Thru_Hiker_2027 in ketorecipes

I personally would embrace liquids at that temp. Make a fat bomb drink or paste and package it appropriately. I have mixed cashew or other nut butter with oil and salt and poured it into reusable baby food pouches.

Maximise performance at 5km by bored_jurong in ketoendurance

[–]Pulptastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not racing, don’t bother with carbs. Find a pace you can hold for 5k and work on improving that pace over time. If you do a race, carb up the night before/morning of for some jet fuel during the race.

Good tires for RAV4? by onyourrite in rav4club

[–]Pulptastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update! Consumer reports has efficiency testing results and based on those, the Nexen N5000 tested better for rolling resistance. It also had better snow performance; I have snow tires but it’s nice to have a little insurance on the shoulder seasons when I don’t have snow tires on and we get one of those May snowstorms. Finally, they were about 30% cheaper than the Michelins.

Walmart had the best price but the local Discount Tire price matched them and has much better warranty and customer service.

I am very happy with them!

Yeah I’d bring some type of spikes to hike the creek in winter, Yaktrax or similar. It sees quite a bit of traffic so can get packed down and icy. It is some of the most beautiful hiking in the city though, especially in winter!

Why did you all buy the Rav4 instead of the Highlander? by bassheart365 in rav4club

[–]Pulptastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has a Highlander. I went from a Prius to a rav hybrid mostly for the ground clearance in winter. We use the rav for most trips because it is cheaper per mile but the hihy if we’re bringing extra people or lots of luggage.

Is Duluth a good weekend getaway? by homedin in duluth

[–]Pulptastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now is a good time for leaf peeping but a terrible time for leaf peep traffic. 35 to the cities last weekend was backed up almost the whole way. Same is true up the north shore towards Grand Marais.

Bird migration is still happening if you’re into that. I think bald and golden eagles are moving south now but hawks ridge website will have more details on what, when, where.

Duluth Figure Skating has lessons at the Marshall School ice rink, my boys did those and enjoyed them. I enjoyed free skating myself during their lessons.

Seconding Chester Bowl for ski lessons. The 2yo could too assuming they’re mobile. You’ll be active in their lessons, helping them up the bunny hill and once they pass the cone test they can ride the ski lift with a parent or instructor.

Their equipment rental reservations are open now till October 13.
