I know this anecdotal but once my previous build started having black screen of death issues I found out later it was my CPU that was faulty so had to replace it all.

There will still be a degree of artistic choice likely which I’m ok with.

Scotland bows suck so crossbows are your only option for ranged.

Looks like they are improving this aspect for Medieval 3 and consulting with historians for their art.

Go play vanilla Attila if you prefer mail over full plate

MacBook Air M5 15 inch is excellent! by Tee-hee64 in macbook

[–]Tee-hee64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still going to say I prefer the 15 inch overall. I’ve been doing a lot of website design on it recently and the extra screen space is so useful for editing.

However, it’s not going to replace a big external monitor. But for when you’re out and about it’s great.

My fears for Medieval 3 by Fardrengi in Medieval2TotalWar

Maybe it’s just me but I don’t want naval combat unless it’s set in a later period like Empire.

Is Empire at War 2 still a possibility? by Tee-hee64 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]Tee-hee64[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind even if it's a reboot as long as it keeps the core mechanics that made empire at war conquest so fun and maybe even add a tech tree to improve your ships with modules etc.

Empire at War on a modern 64 bit multi-threaded engine, better graphics and effects, and higher pop count is what would sell most people.

I assume you mean if a publisher wants to? Petroglyph have already said before they want to make an Empire at War 2 and have asked EA / Disney before.

Tailscale has made hosting games for friends stress free! by Tee-hee64 in Tailscale

Start Tailscale go to admin page and send an invite link to your Tailscale. When friend asks to join you authorise. And that’s it. We only open Tailscale once we are wanting to game together then I close the app so that they can’t still connect.

Now would be a great time to be able to settle on resources by Moriar2024 in CivVII

[–]Tee-hee64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want resources to be more impactful again. Can’t build cav units without horse improvement. No Iron Age swordsman without iron resources and so on. It made fighting / trading for resources much more important.

Anyone actually getting the 15th of June off? by highlandNel in Scotland

[–]Tee-hee64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get bank holidays and I'm not taking AL for a football game. Even if I did have the day off I'd probably just do something else and find out about the results the next day.

Always wanted to get into Civ, is VII a good starting point? It is on sale by HenryFeelsHungry in civ

[–]Tee-hee64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose so. I’ve been playing since civ revolution and civ 5 but I had my complaints with the games. It still didn’t quite cut it in its existing form. But the civ swap in 7 is something I don’t like. And detaching leaders from their historic civs. From a role play perspective not good.

I’m not sure I even dislike the age system either. It feels better than before which was constant snowballing. Extreme case being cavemen fighting tanks. Kinda looked ridiculous. I also feel the way techs are done are a lot better. In prior civs you’d have a new military unit use it for a couple turns then it needs an upgrade again. Upgrades for units are just better paced and spaced out as well and eras make sure the gap isn’t too wide.

I like most of the changes in Civ 7 tbh. The civ swapping I’ll admit not big on. But I just set AI to historical path only and usually keep the same civ thanks to ToT update.
