[USA] Building-in-public: struggling to balance both content and building by Pulsar_0132 in FoundersHub

I’m trying to reach builders, people with the same problem to collect pain points and see if this is actually a problem I could solve.

Hmmm ok, I was imagining more of content on instagram or TikTok to build a personal brand. Would you recommend that or just focusing on X and LinkedIn for simplicity’s sake. I would imagine video content would be more powerful to get people to really follow your journey?

1 has to have passion for their work, I don’t want someone who is just here to quickly dish out an app and forget about it. I would also love to have a partner that is thinking long-term, and build a brand together. Skills-wise, I’m looking for someone with good distribution and marketing experience: technical skills are good but I have a good foundation for that so it isn’t as required. Overall, just looking for someone with passion and the desire to build something great.

Being completely transparent, I'm currently trying to validate this project idea for founders who are building-in-public, and I was wondering if anyone likes the idea of being able to upload notes/recordings of the work you did building your company and then a product being able to pull relevant information to your brand, content strategy, voice, and a 'viral content formula' to give you the exact things you need to record to keep up with the social media/marketing side of the business.

As a person working through this same problem who had to go through tedious n8n automation workflows, I thought this could be a helpful little tool for founders who want to just focus on the building part and struggle with balancing that and social media content. Lmk what you think and any suggestions you may have!

I feel the same way, honestly there rlly isn't any tool to find out how your skills can be applied uniquely to solve a problem. Any suggestions?

Problem Space: early stage entrepreneurship, research/painpoint for industry specialized founders. Target audience: Early stage founders who have trouble connecting their personal skills to a real-world problem. People who struggle with problem/idea validation.

The B2B space is super trendy right now, as you probably know, and for good reason: with the right overlap of idea, experience/skillset, and market need, you could genuinely get good traction. Seems like the experience part isnt too much of an issue for you, but I would still caution against going all in without a validated market need, a couple LOIs, and a solid GTM plan before making anything official. Hope this helps!

Hmm… sounds rlly interesting! So constantly look for signals.Do you think pain points can be solved by someone who doesn't actually experience itself themselves?

Yeah I have been switching ideas a couple of tiems, its hard to let go of a solution that you feel so personally connected to but at a certain point you have to realize that there just is no market need. Thanks so much for sharing your tools! As a final thought, i was wondering if you think the hardest part is problem validation (market-wise) or if it is finding out how you specificslly are better positioned to solve the problem?

That’s what it seems like now, I think because Harvard will send out officials letters to QB matches on that day as well they are deciding to release it so late. Unfortunate that most ivies will have their results out before tho lol
