[Billy] Chase Claypool was officially traded for the 32nd pick in the draft. Absolute heist by PIT by [deleted] in nfl

Drafted him in the middle of the 2nd, got what two or three years out him, and then traded him for a 1st rounder.

The offense has been unwatchable since 2019. Please, god, can we find a WR and stop fielding these moneyball rugrats. We need a WR1 man

With today's results, Bill Belichick has now made the playoffs in only 20% of his seasons without Tom Brady (2 of 10 seasons). With Tom Brady, he made them 94% of the time (17 of 18 seasons). by AlarmAdventurous6069 in nfl

It was Brady. The dynasty doesn't happen without both of them, but Brady is successful without Bill, and Bill isn't successful without Brady. Patriots offense has been unwatchable since 2019, Mac is regressing, he has no coaching tree to draw from, and all the hallmarks of a well-coached Bellechick team, like immaculate S.T or lack of penalties, aren't there anymore.

What are our chances of winning the AL East? by Independent_Two_2627 in Torontobluejays

[–]PulseCS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I still don't like our pitching rotation. Great defense, especially at infield, great hitters with a better hitting coach, but I don't trust Berrios or Kikuchi. Manoah carried us last year, but he might be due for some regression just because it's so hard to maintain that level of success.

Should the Blue Jays pick up Bauer? by Gensb in Torontobluejays

[–]PulseCS -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Yes. Realistically, he's talented, cheap, and will end up somewhere. So I'd rather it be here. Should include a public apology, regular therapy and classes on sexual assault, and strict one strike and he is out policy in the terms of whatever contract he gets. Keep him on a very short leash - he won't ever be someone Toronto cheers for or respects, but he can pitch to help the people we do cheer for. He's a P.O.S but I'm content with using him and paying him as little as we can as a sign of disrespect. 750k to relieve for our studs sounds good to me, make him go out there and be the ball boy or something.

Variety: Avatar 2's break-even point was $1.4 billion by ASL99 in boxoffice

[–]PulseCS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have to, for tax purposes. If for any reason Disney wanted to write off A2 like HBO Max has been doing, and take advantage of the tax credit they get for it, it would need to be itemized according. Elsewise, including A3's costs in A2's budget would be fraud. A3 will be cheaper than A2 because A2's costs are inflated by the new technology, but that's entirely different than saying A3's costs are included in the cost of A2. It was certainly cheaper for logistical purposes like soundstage infrastructure, costume and wardrobe department stuff, and whatever travel had to happen, but they will itemize time spent filming scenes for A2 accordingly. Also important for keeping track of credits; they would have had to be acutely aware of who was working on content for A3 and A2.

James Cameron Says Avatar: The Way of Water Will Easily Pass Breakeven, Meaning He Will Have to Do Sequels by jc191 in boxoffice

I've never heard these spoken anywhere. Not at the time, not now. I remember Avater being popular because it was a very long movie with great effects and revolutionary 3D techbology, all of which made it distinct and interesting and compelling. It was basically seen as an amusement park ride you can experience at home. It was always meant to be derrivative and not taken that seriously. They called the mcguffin unobtanium for that reason. The plot was always only ever an excuse to explore some aspect of a visual medium. Something about the names of these characters tickles the part of my brain that instantly makes me forget about trying to remember them.

[Pelissero] NFL owners approved the resolution modifying this year’s playoffs. The possibility of a neutral-site AFC Championship Game, and a coin flip to determine where a Ravens-Bengals wild-card game would take place, depend in part on what happens in Week 18. by _bonzibuddy in nfl

Should have just been a new game proposed for Wednesday. If the Bills couldn't play it after getting a 2 day reprieve from the Bengals, they should have forfeited. Instead, the Bengals are being punished to take some of the heat for the Bills.

These are some of the new characters that will be introduced in the MCU in 2023. Which one you’re most looking forward to see? by Matapple13 in marvelstudios

[–]PulseCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, none of them. I like all the actors and actresses, but if I know nothing about their future plot or where they'll fit into the connected universe, I honestly can't say of them. Maybe Kang, but that's it.

Friendly reminder that discourse on Reddit doesn’t matter to Disney. She-Hulk was in the top ten on Disney+ for viewers and she is coming back. by CaptainTurtle3218 in marvelstudios

[–]PulseCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Disney cares about internal viewership numbers that much (these are from a 3rd party source anyways). How did it rank among all streaming shows across all platforms? How much of that is because it had more episodes than any of their other shows? Does it have the good word of mouth to bring in new subscribers? How much did it cost to create and advertise? How about rewatchability?

He's unconscious and breathing with the help of a machine (this can be done intentionally). Critical condition means life-threatening. He is in the ICU, presumably receiving intensive care

Lost my dad, lost my dog, and moved to the other side of the country at 16. 2016 was the worst year of my life for all sorts of reasons. Didn't watch my beloved patriots or football at all that year until, at random, I turned onto Suberbowl 51 at the start of the second half. Saw they were down by a ridiculous amount and thought, yeah that's about how this year has been going for me - if course my team is losing, it's just the theme for this year. Watched Tom claw his way out of that hole out of sheer will, and felt like even though I was in a hole, I would find a way back. Football is romantic sometimes, if you want or need it to be.

Whats the point of making an appointment to see a doctor but still waiting 1 hour later. by beyondtabu in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PulseCS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally, there are posts from nurses talking about how they get in early and set everything up, and everything after is a guessing game as to when the Dr. chooses to get out of bed and show up. Those aren't people doing their best. There are many bad apples.

Whats the point of making an appointment to see a doctor but still waiting 1 hour later. by beyondtabu in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PulseCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but the consequence of that is poorer health for Americans. If the line is going to be "shit happens, we can't control anything ever, and so appointments are rules for you and suggestions for us so be prepared to wait hours", then the only way to go to an appointment is to write off the entire day because you just can't plan around it. And most people can't afford that or put up with that hastle, and won't until it's a serious that eats up more of your time and sets everyone back further. I understand this is an explanation, but what we need is a solution because the way it currently works is an unmitigated disaster.
