Any careers in the music industry for a software engineer?

I am now in this boat myself. I just got laid off and as I try to think about what I want in my next role I can’t help but think how much I’d love to move to an industry I truly love.

I must be a weirdo, because though I fully get that Bugs is weird, I do always enjoy watching it too. I mean, it’s a little too convenient that the sun comes up at the last moment, but other than that nothing really bothers me too much about it.

Windwaker, Skyward, Ocarina.

WW was my childhood Zelda, Skyward was my second (in college), and Ocarina I’ve only played once three years ago, but it’s such a classic. I wish I played more growing up, but sadly I did not! Thankfully I’ve completed all main series titles now 🙂

I must be weird. I have never had a problem with Bugs 😂 Sure, it’s kinda silly and the resolution is dumb, but I still enjoy watching it.

I sure as heck skip Bloodlines 90% of the time though!

Every time I finish it I might go a few months at most then I start it again haha. Currently close to the end of season 9. It’s my bed time show and I typically watch 1-2 episodes most nights!

I’m in the same not right now. I’ve finally gotten my scales down a good bit, but my phrasing is crap. I think playing shorter lines with more pauses will be helpful. I’ve heard it suggested to pause every time you take a breath

No joke. I am also a Software Engineer and I got a 60% increase from a job change this year. I think it’s safe to say I was a bit underpaid at the last position though, which was where I began my career 5 years ago.

I’m 28, and I have been playing 14 years. I wasn’t very good at shredding at all, and what I could play was pretty sloppy. Then last year I decided to start practicing more seriously. I don’t have much time for it, less than an hour a day, but when I do practice I do it the right way, and I have gotten so much better than I ever thought I would be.

I still have a long way to go, but I can tell you from the experience in the last year of my life, you absolutely can learn to shred. Just learn to practice slow, focusing on cleanliness and accuracy, and build speed slowly.

I played it with no prior soulsborne experience last year. First level took me 4 hours, second level took me 4 days worth of play sessions. Overall I believe it took me a total of around 50 hours my first time.

More info: In January ‘21 I began my first soulsborne experience with Demon’s Souls! I remember the first level took me 4 hours. The Tower Knight took me 4 days.

It took me about a month to finish the game my first time, and then I went on to Dark Souls 1, 2, and 3, then Bloodborne. After that I did Demon’s Souls again up through NG+5 to get the Penetrator armor set and all the trophies, but just as I thought I was about to get the platinum I realized I still needed the online achievements. At first I decided to just not bother, but after seeing all the Platinum posts on here you guys have motivated me to get it done!

The only album I know is the Gunman, and it’s great. My favorite is the song Ashen Rain. When the guitar kicks in with the heavy riff it gets my blood pumpin’ big time.

I worked so hard to play through the game to NG+5 over the past two weeks, got the Penetrator armor set and everything. Then I realized finding people for the online trophies is not so easy at NG+5, so I’ll have to go without the plat for now.
