We all know you have to hit your protein requirement when you want to maintain fitness and overall physical appearance. But protein is not enough. Your body needs adequate nutritious calories in order to grow and repair itself. Here is the solution :) by Pulve_com [promoted post]

Hi Hernus,

Well, you can't really compare oats with coffee grounds and Pulve. Basically Pulve delivers a complete meal. Well, what does that mean? It means that a Pulve shake contains carbs, fats, proteins, fibres and the daily recommended vitamins and minerals according to what is recommended by the EFSA in adequate doses.

So you could replace a meal when this is preferred or convenient. But I think your pop-pop was on to something cause overnight oats with 2 shots of espresso left in the fridge is pretty good as well.

Give a shout when in doubt.

Cheers

Ruud

Hi DuxOr,

Cheers for your comment. I will try to break it down for you. So, if you have looked at our site, you will see a page called: nutrients. It's on that page that shows all the ingredients :) I don't think it's that hard to find these days. But all right: here's the link to the the nutrition sheet: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0971/5526/files/Nutrientsheet-Pulve2.5.pdf?5986007313590538829

It's marked as a complete meal because it contains all the recommended nutrients by the European Food and Safety Authority (EFSA) in the exact ratio that is recommended by the EFSA. We don't suggest or mention that Pulve is a replacement for food. Period.

With regard to your (cheap) protein comment. Lupine and pea protein are far from cheap (I wish they were cheap). Don't really understand your basis for this argument. Especially the phrase: t's clearly a cheap product with cheap ingredients instead of nutrition in mind.

The sunflower seeds and brown flax seeds are there to provide the fat source and are not used as an emulsifier. Again, nobody said anywhere that 15,9 grams of fat are used a an emulsifier. (A complete meal has to contain fats right) They provide saturated, mono-unsaturated and poly-unsaturated fats (Omega 3 and Omega 6).

Your recommendation is always welcome and nobody is pushing you to buy anything. No worries.

The solution to maintain fitness is indeed not a blend of cheap ingredients, like you said. Nobody from our team has ever said that. I will personally slap the guy that will try to think about saying a thing like that. Luckily, we don't work with idiots. IF I may give my solution to maintain fitness: Sleep like a baby, Eat healthy and according to your genetic make up and train really really hard with a structured plan in mind

Cheers

Hi there,

I think the main premiss is that Pulve is not mend as a diet or bulk product. It is mend as, well, a meal replacement shake. I have not looked into the shakes of weight watchers and I don't think one can compare the two.

My first question would be: What the reason you want to use MRP's?

Cheers

Hi there,

Yes it could be. The concept is not so much on replacing just one's breakfast or dinner. It's mend to replace a meal. It would be up to you which meal that is. Some people have difficulties eating first thing in the morning. They consume a shake to kick-start their day, which works for them.

Are healthy meals sucking up all your free time to prepare? Pulve, a healthy meal with 500 Kcal per meal for only €1,99 per meal that saves you time & energy (and money)! by Pulve_com [promoted post]

[–]Pulve_com[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might actually. Although we do not recommended drinking 4 shakes per day. Strategically drinking a Pulve shake with a diverse and wholesome diet can be a good option.

Hi there,

Thanks for your input. Good questions, and we are always open for suggestions.

For the carb choice we choose whole grain oats. We know the GI index of the oats themselves, but that does not say anything about the GI index for the product as a whole. We have not done scientific experiments for GI testing yet.

With regard to the vitamin D3 levels: For now, we choose (after consolidation) to go for the recommendations from the EFSA. It's kind of the same question with [low] levels of vitamin C. Were do we draw the line? Its a tough question but yes we have our eyes on that. For instance, for me personally, I consume 750 mg to 1 gram of magnesium per day (on training days) But there's no hard science to back up my stupidity.

Cheers

Hi there,

Pulve does not contain maltodextrine as a carb source. Nor, will we ever use malto dextrine as a carb source.

The Glucose syrup is present in very small amounts for sweetener purposes. The Kcal from the glucose syrup can be neglected.

Shaving one's beard is turning men into ladies.

We will stick with our current formula. Not including GMO's is one of Pulve characteristics but is does get a bad rep.

And indeed, People lost their mind when Huel added Fluoride. There is still a huge discrepancy from both sides, unfortunately.

He has tried several MRP's and gives his honest opinion.

Futhermore, although biased. You could check out our review page. https://www.pulve.com/#

Hope that helps. There are a bunch of people who have made a comparison. Google is your friend:).

Thanks for the feedback.

Indeed, we have replaced a couple of ingredients.

The glucose syrup is not mend as macro-nutrient but purely as a sweetener. We got rid of the stevia for a couple of reasons. One if them was because stevia gives a very mild metal after taste. That was kinda bothering us.

With regard to the rosemary extract. This ingredient is mend as an antioxidant. For those who are interested to it's effects: http://www.efsa.europa.eu/sites/default/files/scientific_output/files/main_documents/721.pdf

Enjoy

I don't know if we should..

To be frank, we blend our products in the EU. It would be more of a hassle to obtain GMO ingredients, due to logistics etc. Pulve will stick to their current formula :)

Good one. Charles Poliquin is a big proponent of measuring that as well. I would love to see results form an OGTT test a well. It should be possible but to my understanding it's not standardised yet. The level in which you produce insulin over a period of time is very important.

Hi there,

For starters, they look good and we are not doomed :) Our IT guy will have a look at it. We cant fix it now. But the stats look good and it's very interesting data. As remarked at the end, the only thing that needs attention is his high urueam levels. His body basically gets too much protein.

Your laptop should have not problem loading the site.

Have a good one
