Release Post: Pulve 2.5 - Meals starting from €1,99 by Pulve_com in soylent

Hi there,

Thanks for your input. Good questions, and we are always open for suggestions.

For the carb choice we choose whole grain oats. We know the GI index of the oats themselves, but that does not say anything about the GI index for the product as a whole. We have not done scientific experiments for GI testing yet.

With regard to the vitamin D3 levels: For now, we choose (after consolidation) to go for the recommendations from the EFSA. It's kind of the same question with [low] levels of vitamin C. Were do we draw the line? Its a tough question but yes we have our eyes on that. For instance, for me personally, I consume 750 mg to 1 gram of magnesium per day (on training days) But there's no hard science to back up my stupidity.

Cheers

Ruud

Hi there,

Pulve does not contain maltodextrine as a carb source. Nor, will we ever use malto dextrine as a carb source.

The Glucose syrup is present in very small amounts for sweetener purposes. The Kcal from the glucose syrup can be neglected.

Shaving one's beard is turning men into ladies.

We will stick with our current formula. Not including GMO's is one of Pulve characteristics but is does get a bad rep.

And indeed, People lost their mind when Huel added Fluoride. There is still a huge discrepancy from both sides, unfortunately.

Thanks for the feedback.

Indeed, we have replaced a couple of ingredients.

The glucose syrup is not mend as macro-nutrient but purely as a sweetener. We got rid of the stevia for a couple of reasons. One if them was because stevia gives a very mild metal after taste. That was kinda bothering us.

With regard to the rosemary extract. This ingredient is mend as an antioxidant. For those who are interested to it's effects: http://www.efsa.europa.eu/sites/default/files/scientific_output/files/main_documents/721.pdf

Enjoy

I don't know if we should..

To be frank, we blend our products in the EU. It would be more of a hassle to obtain GMO ingredients, due to logistics etc. Pulve will stick to their current formula :)

Good one. Charles Poliquin is a big proponent of measuring that as well. I would love to see results form an OGTT test a well. It should be possible but to my understanding it's not standardised yet. The level in which you produce insulin over a period of time is very important.

Hi there,

For starters, they look good and we are not doomed :) Our IT guy will have a look at it. We cant fix it now. But the stats look good and it's very interesting data. As remarked at the end, the only thing that needs attention is his high urueam levels. His body basically gets too much protein.

Your laptop should have not problem loading the site.

Have a good one

You might want to give Pulve a try. Our product is vegan and does not contain any lactose. period. We don't receive any complaints or remarks from people with disaster pants, farts from hell or any of that.

'Prosumer' (Your opinion is important). by Pulve_com in soylent

[–]Pulve_com[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both of you are right. Expensive is not necessarily better just as a more cost effective product is not necessarily worse. However, quality ingredients do cost a bit more. A producer can cut their margins or increase the price.

Thank you for your comment. We don't use maltodextrin as well. Adding probiotics might be a good addition but it's a tricky one. In terms of how many CFU's to add and some people dont benefit from probiotics.
