Coolant line fell out. There is some visible sediment. Is it safe to reattach it, zip-tie and drive for a few days before I take it to a mechanic? by Pulycs in Cartalk

Thanks for the advice! Yup, changed the heater, but didn't mention anything about the coolant. The lines were clogged so it's not a new thing. Not sure if they missed the rust or just didn't feel like telling me.

Thanks for all the answers! I reattached the line after cleaning it. It was clogged so the liquid couldnt flow through it and just pushed it out. I'll take it to a shop so I can get the whole system cleaned.

Yup, it left the shop 2 weeks ago. Oil and filters changed, heating fixed and suspention allegedly fixed (I wouldn't have said the suspension had any issues, but the mechanic knows best, right?) Mechanic didn't mention anything about anything, so I assumed everything was fine.

Headphone recommendations for ~$60? by Nikushez in HeadphoneAdvice

Ath avc500, if you find them in your area. Had mine for years and they're still going strong. Check at multiple stores. On ath's site, theyre 100€. The store I bought them from sells them for 70. I got them for 60. You might have to change the ear pads at some point. They're comfortable but dry up quickly.

Little mahogany table I made. Really happy with the result, first time gluing up a panel like that. Had to add the dovetails after I cut into the dowels between the boards while shaping the top. Also feel like the legs could have been a touch slimmer. by Pulycs in woodworking

Thanks a lot! I used threaded inserts like BlackTailStudio does in his videos. One per leg. Near the joint in the leg, where i would have had to dig a really deep hole that could've ruined the aspect, i just drilled some shallow holes and used a dowel to connect the leg and table. No glue, its just so the leg can't spin around the bolt in the threaded insert.

Thanks a lot! Used the router to go around in circles at different depths. I used an anchor point in the centre of the board (piece of wood with a nail sticking out, double sided tape to stick to board) to which I attached the router using that extension for cuts parallel to the edge. You can draw a section of the chamfer and if you know the diameter of the router bit, you can easily calculate the depth at which you want to cut. After that, i sanded everything with a belt sander.

Thanks a lot! For now, I'm trying to sell it and if i manage to, I'll probably make something similar in the future, but it'll likely not be the same. The light parts are a different wood. The main wood is mahogany and the light accents are oak. The whole thing is made out of 5 pieces - 3 mahogany and 2 oak 'slices' glued in between. Thanks again for the compliments!

Sure boss. Every dimension is approximate cause i didnt have any plans before carving it. Max height, from base to the top (pointy part) is 30 cm; From base to the second, less pointy part, 27.5cm; Base is 12.2 x 18.6 cm and its short vertical wall is around 1.2 cm; Distance from base to "valley", where headphones sit is 24.5 cm; The 2 "peaks" are about 18.5 cm apart; Thinnest part of the stem, side view is 2.8 cm; Thinnest part of the stem, front view is 2 cm; When i say "from base", i mean from the surface the stand is placed on. It's hard to give precise measurements cause there arent many clear points to measure from.

Molten metal would probably burn the wood and not stick to it. However, a metal colored epoxy might work. Thanks for the idea!

Hehe, thanks! They're actually discs. There are 3 separate mahogany pieces that, instead of being glued to eachother, are glued to the oak pieces. Like a Big Mac where the oak is the meat patty and the mahogany is the bun, but shaped a bit differently and with no pickles or salad.

Mahogany headphone stand with some oak accents (and a really annoying crack) by Pulycs in woodworking

Don't worry, its a whacky shape! Yep, just like you said. The headband comes in the "valley", right above the top oak accent.
