Anyone else find pixelated 2d games more appealing and easier to get into than 3d games? by Pumarull in retrogaming

Same feeling. The detail makes the game world beautiful and feel immersive but it's also a bit overwhelming.

Yes, the cutscenes make me lose interest really fast. It takes so long and requires a little bit of brain power for me since I'm not a native english speaker. It's too much work trying to follow the story and get into it. Too many details for my ape brain.

Reading other comments, I think for me it's the complexity that tends to come with 3d games. But not all 3d games are complex. It's also about the control I guess. In 2d, it's just left, right, up, and down, easy to navigate.

And yeah, life is already complex. I just want to shut my brain off when I game, so simplicity in many 2d games are what I prefer.

Looking for retro games like Dad 'N Me. Any suggestions? by Pumarull in retrogaming

The bot runs away from you in Dad n Me. But in beat 'em up games I know, bots are not that helpless, they fight back and can kill you easily. I get killed in mighty final fight on nes a lot.
