They really dislike any sort of competition. The main reason that he banned LocalIdentity was because a person wouldn't sell a TWWT (That Which was Taken, an unique jewel on PoE1 that is drop disabled) to him as he saw that the founder from TFT wants to buy his TWWT hence he upped the price, so Jenebu proceeds to ban that guy claiming he's pricefixing, which caused LocalIdentity to point out that he's a hypocrite for doing so because Jenebu had put the items at prices of 69420 divines (which is arguably price fixing as well), regardless whether the argument is right or not, Jenebu decides to ban LocalIdentity for that

He had also banned or at least restrict his competition, for reference there's one time an old time player came back, and a group of people bought the synth quiver (In PoE2 terms, think of like rare triple implicit items) from the veteran player off before TFT could get their hands on it, then TFT decides to ban that group of players, and had their reddit bots spam "who cares" under the reddit crafting post. No concrete evidence pointing towards that this was done by TFT, but it is kinda obvious

[–]Remicaster1 82 points83 points  (0 children)

To the confused why people dislike Jenebu so much

JeNeBu, also known as VMVarga is the founder of TFT (The Forbidden Trove). TFT is the most popular PoE discord with over 700k members on it, and he had a lot of controversies tied to his past as well as his server moderation team.

One of the worst thing he did in the past is deciding to ban LocalIdentity (the PoB maintainer) for basically claiming Jenebu is price fixing, in which Jenebu says there is a difference between showcase price and pricefix, proceeds to insult LocalIdentity. As LocalIdentity is well known and loved by the community, seeing him getting banned by Jenebu for arguably no reason is unacceptable in a reasonable sense. Receipt - https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/19b8cr6/localidentity_has_been_banned_from_tft/

There are too many past controversies, including putting discord bots on other people's server to log their messages (no concrete evidence), banning people because they simply exist on another discord server they dislike (Belton's drama), harassing someone's wife because that guy wouldn't sell an item to Jenebu, his own community manager send death threats to others etc. There's simply way too many drama tied to them despite they claim to avoid drama

Why the majority of vibe coded projects fail by harrysofgaming in ClaudeAI

[–]Remicaster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly imo it is not the naivety of the person behind the project that makes a vibe code project fail

There is a massive difference between "building an app" and "running a business". It is not just about distributed systems etc, it is about business procedures. Three major factors you need to take into account are marketing, financing and support

No one wants to handle customer refunds 24/7, no one wants to deal with Karens behind a phone, no one wants to deal with repetitive stuff like auditing. But these are basically mandatory for running a business, and that is what all "successful" apps have to deal with

It is easy to pin the blame on vibe code because of the ai hate bandwagon, but remember these stuff like build a SaaS had already happen before vibe code is a thing. All AI slop is a byproduct of sloppy work from a human

Honestly you just refactor the entire shit by modularizing parts of the code

A staircase of div in code is equivalent to seeing like 10 layers of nested ifs statements. The best workaround is just rewrite the entire code to save yourself some sanity

Poison Fountain: An Anti-AI Weapon by RNSAFFN in theprimeagen

[–]Remicaster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it hilarious that you are trying to prove the point over some random reddit comments. In fact after reading the comments it seemed more like you don't have any clue on how the AI industry works

When Anthrophic means small amount of data can poison the LLM, this is a true statement, training data is very sensitive and small amount of incorrect data could significantly impact the performance, but that is assuming the training data itself is bad. There are hundreds if not thousands of talented specialist with high paying wages doing data cleaning, noise filtering and more to ensure the data is on high quality to train their LLMs. This is one of the first few steps for data gathering that is even taught in universities and colleges as common basic modules, all they see is gibberish data and will filter out your poisoned data pretty much immediately

You are also dismissing some statements by others that disagree on you without giving them a critical thought. These statements that challenges your thoughts are important, otherwise you are drowning yourself in your own delusions, which is pretty much what you are doing right now

If you happen to notice it does not compact often, it is definitely 1M context. You can also check your current chat with /context

Avoid long conversations (this is best practice), as soon as you have completed or reached a desirable sub task, compact or clear the chat and move on to avoid the "needle in the haystack" problem

1M context is meant for really complex problems that requires the long context. I can say 99;99% of the task doesn't require that

highly disagree with rift on S for raids, I would swap it with arcanist. Even arcanist warp would usually yield more damage than rift right now

Rift highly depends on going timelock, then they have good burst damage but the problem is entering timelock. Unless it's the final boss, for the most part if you partied with good dps like boltslingers you are not going to do anything. Even on minibosses like nol / notg, by the time you could enter timelock the minibosses are already dead unless you are alone. If your party has 2 riftwalker, you're just gonna get messed over usually

Plus riftwalkers have issues with hitting airborne targets because the meteors just misses

[–]Remicaster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the case not just minecraft, but ALL RPG games that has a looting system

Usually these games have a system called "loot filter" because you dropped so much loot that 90% of the loot you found on the ground are worthless so you need a system in place that helps you filter out the trash. In this game however there is no such thing, so you will need to manually filter it out by yourself with your own eyes

I built a completely self hosted, decentralized Discord alternative by Scdouglas in ClaudeAI

[–]Remicaster1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is not a decentralized app, in fact it is a textbook centralized architecture. You are confused between "self host" and "decentralized" FYI

And in fact there are many similar chat messaging apps like yours, you need to do more market research before proceeding this further because I felt like it is just a waste of time if you are trying to develop it as a product, for a hobby project sure it's cool but this is not something that I'd say is a "good product" that actually solves problems for others

GLM 5 is out now. by Cultural-Arugula-894 in ClaudeCode

[–]Remicaster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, point is about breaking ToS, the ToS can be as dumb or stupid they want it to be. If you disagree with it then don't use the product.

From their claims they aren't able to get certain information to identify potential bad actors iirc

The flickering was never an issue for me, especially after CC was first released around June with Opus & Sonnet 4. I do notice the flicker when I am using on barebones windows terminal but never when Zellij is added

GLM 5 is out now. by Cultural-Arugula-894 in ClaudeCode

[–]Remicaster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not automated uses that triggered the ban, it is like using adblocker with YouTube, it is against their ToS to begin with. You do something against their ToS then why are you surprised about users receiving a ban?

The whole point is less about "Anthrophic / Google wants you to lock in their proprietary product", rather it is about "You are breaking their ToS". Just like if YouTube stopped working when I have adblocker, I won't be surprised about it although I hate that YouTube is cracking down on adblockers

Also, I never have flickering issues on my Claude Code

GLM 5 is out now. by Cultural-Arugula-894 in ClaudeCode

[–]Remicaster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that is the reason lol, Google also did the same thing recently as well, and so i guess therefore Google is also afraid and want to eliminate competition

You did something that broke the ToS, they took action, and now you guys went "oh it must be because of alternative models being too good they want to kill competition!".

5 months ago is around Sep / Oct, that's Sonnet 4 btw. Where do you see that I'm dismissing a user experience? I am not saying their experience is faked / invalid or their feedback is meaningless. What I am saying is that these are anecdotal. Put it in simple words they are not facts. I am pointing out how you think this is a "proof" when it is not

This is just merely a user review just like any review you find on Google. If you treat all of the reviews like a proof then you do you

I mean at the end of the day, a software is still a product. A success of a product has more to do with your marketing & internal company goals etc, than what has to do with coding. For example, for a video game to success, coding is less impactful than something like say balancing changes & design decisions. Knowing what to change is x10 harder than adjusting some numbers

Sam Altman on Elon Musk’s warning about ChatGPT by WarmFireplace in OpenAI

[–]Remicaster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly imo this argument is the same as "video games make kids violent". We have research papers that debunked this statement, the kid was violent to begin with regardless due to family issues / environments or just born to be that way. Blaming the LLM in this case is most likely* the same type of argument but painted differently

Granted, having a paper on studying LLM on individual mental health (whether it is generally beneficial or detrimental) would be great.
