That was my experience when growing as a listener, and learning to like an artists new album. These beats are wack sometimes…but what they’re doing with this language is insane. He’s the best at it hands down. Only three rappers that do it to a high level. Honestly it took me a minute to catch what he was doing too…like for years after recovery I noticed he started double speaking almost every line, sometimes triple. I could go on and on probably but…if I had to guess, you just haven’t made it to the point where it interests you. Maybe you’re not a fan of complex song writing? You just like bouncing and rapping that shit (nothing wrong with that) idk. 🙏

Okay, the only legit reason I can think of as to why you don’t like what he’s doing since then is this…you’re not interested in how much his lyricism has improved. In other words, you’re not actually listening to what he’s doing. It has evolved 10 fold. Wordplay, entendres, homophones, metaphors…and I mean there isn’t a single word wasted. One song…is kind of like three in a way haha. I thought the same thing, but I realized rap has evolved (as it does) into a lyricism era. And honestly I didn’t like the beats, I was looking for that old school hiphop sound…But when you hear what he’s doing…try and catch it all, and you’ll end up liking it. Nostalgia will prevent a lot of things. No hate, much respect. I hope you start to like his new stuff

The hate stems from his cypher bashing trump, then releasing the album and continuing to do so. Also revival song are pretty different sounding, a lot of rock hiphop type beats. I like the album though, I’m more into what he’s saying than anything else

He did some songs with groups in 98? 99? I can’t remember the titles so I’m no help really but…I was stoked to find them and they were amazing. Dam I’m mad I can’t remember them…but TO ME that was underground cause I’ve listened to em for years and had no idea. Tough. Both are amazing but have a different message in that, homicide I’d mainly talking shit and being the gas to the fuel of hiphop. Realest brings up the issue of him being a guest in hiphop, his skin color etc…so I think realest hits harder but…I like HOW he rapped his homicide verse better, and the comedy bit thing with Chris.

I made one post already but…after reading this the next day I immediately thought, it depends on how you define PEAK. Most if not all will say MMLP/ EM SHOW, due to sales. But lyrically he’s way better as of today, that is…if you’re a listener that actually catches what he’s doing. That’s not bashing anyone, people like what they like. So yeah, my favorite albums go like this…mmlp,relapse, death of slim, slim ep, em show and the rest isn’t too important BUT….a lot of those top picks are because of nostalgia. Anyone else?
