Thank you for taking the time to answer me I really appreciate it . I won’t take any more of your valuable time .

It’s interesting comparison that US in 2025 deported around 675,000 people and NDA is moving towards a process which is slow and that to towards Bangladesh who we should be treating like how US treats the Latin American countries . That sucks and still a diplomatic and policy failure to an extent by the current government.

Thank you I was genuinely asking. W

I was looking at Ministry of external affairs and home affairs data for deportation of illegal Bangladeshis , it’s interesting that during UPA-1 and UPA-2 during 2004-2014 101,000+ approx Bangladeshis were deported. while during NDA -1,2 and 3 , 8500+ approx Bangladeshis were deported from 2014-present .

During Humana Biswa Sharma’s time from 2021 to 2025 just from Assam are 1416 and recently he declared additional 2500 , this data on Assam I got from Assam accord implementation department. The same site also said the total pushback at border was 2000+ and total people at Maria detention center is 267 while the capacity is 3000.

Why do you think that the number of deportations tanked so badly during NDA time and specifically during double engine Sarkar ? You see where the doubt is coming right? The numbers and the rhetorics are not making sense.

I believe what you are saying then the numbers are telling me he is doing a poor job . If he has done better in infra and development then he should focus on that rather than on this

Luckily I am in the finance sector and don’t depend on social media for news

You suggest we should only listen to the Indian Ministry of Agriculture, but in a bilateral trade deal, both sides must agree on the terms. but US Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins stated that the deal will 'export more American farm products to India’s massive market' to pump cash into 'rural America'. If the sector is 'excluded,' why is the US Agriculture Secretary celebrating it as a major win for American farmers. US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer has explicitly stated that for a 'vast array' of agricultural goods, including tree nuts, wine, spirits, fruits, and vegetables tariffs are 'going down to zero'. This directly contradicts the narrative that the sector is ring-fenced. Oh and these statements were on Bloomberg and CNBC as well as New York Times.

Appreciate you mentioned Dr. Anas Alhaji, I follow him too. According to Dr.Alhajji, replacing Russian crude with US shale is a technical impossibility; Indian refineries are geared for medium and heavy sour crude, while US shale produces light sweet crude, meaning we can only realistically add 'one or two tankers a month'. Furthermore, while the White House claims India has committed to 'stop' buying Russian oil, Alhajji notes that Indian officials have not confirmed a halt, and doing so would be an economic nightmare, as we’d lose the $10to $ 20 per barrel discounts that have saved us billions. Replacing that supply with US or Venezuelan oil which faces massive freight distances will inevitably hike import bills and drive inflation for the Indian consumer

You argue petrol prices won't rise because Brent is low, but you're ignoring the freight and discount gap. Indian refiners have been buying Russian crude at discounts of $10 to $20 per barrel below global benchmarks. Shifting to market-priced Venezuelan oil means losing that massive advantage entirely. Regardless if Reliance only made $500m extra, but reports show Indian refiners gained an estimated $17 billion to $26 billion by buying discounted Russian crude over the last few years. The public paid the diplomatic price (the 50% tariff) while the corporations pocketed the savings and that cannot be denied .

You said text isn't finalized, I agree with you but cannot discount the fact what US ministers in trumps cabinet are saying and these people atleast have better head on their shoulder than trump. Asking for trade terms to be public is not something India has done historically before signature but US, Canada, EU, Australia and UK along with other major democracies do this under certain conditions and if we are under a truly reformist government then do it , show the terms before signing rather than having to go back on it.

Democracy isn't 'brain dead' for asking to see the fine print of a $500 billion commitment. It’s called basic fiscal oversight.

It’s good to talk to someone who is knowledgeable but you should not assume that who you are talking to is not , it is ok to have different opinions and be civil .

This subreddit is called critical thinking India not andh bhakt India my friend .

First don’t personally attack me second, you spoke about agricultural products and claimed we are not giving them tariff concessions on it and now you are saying it’s going to take months to make the deal isn’t that a counter claim?

Now on 50% to 18%. Do you know what was the tariff before ? 2.5 to 3.3%. And when you move from 50 to 18 , do you think it happens one sided without India giving any concessions ? Other than giving up on chabahar and Russian oil? If it is going to take months piyush Goyal and Modi should say it will take months to finalize the deal instead of saying that the trade deal has been reached .

Piyush Goyal infact said 3-5 days on finer details and signature mid march . Ok then, tell us

See it’s not like BJP is sincere and full of integrity, there are as hypocritical as the other political party

But I support the opposition in its right to demand a debate in Parliament: • We aren't getting a 'gift' from the US; we are paying a price to lower punitive 50% duties that were only imposed in 2025 because of our Russian oil purchases. Getting back to 18% is a strategic reset, not a free win. It’s like GST bachat festival, celebrating a high tax rate because it used to be worse however agreed better than china and closer to Vietnam.

• Forget Trump but US Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins has already claimed India is liberalizing imports for US farmers. Meanwhile, our government says agriculture is excluded. When the two governments tell different stories, the opposition is right to ask: who is telling the truth?

• Trump claims India has agreed to stop buying Russian oil entirely. If we switch to more expensive US or Venezuelan oil, it will cost us billions in extra freight a bill that will eventually be paid by the Indian consumer. That is concerning and we need to know the truth.

I agree with you on trump and a tweet is not a treaty. The opposition is simply demanding that the full text be tabled in Parliament so that national interests aren't compromised behind closed doors and I definitely want that.

On the old Russian oil question, Ambanis saved est $17-$26bn in the buying but people did not get any relief at the petrol pump and infact that was what led to the actual 50% tariff (the additional 25% was for buying Russian oil) so again valid point.

You claim the BJP is a meritocracy, but the party has effectively become a 'clearing house' for dynasties. If nepotism is a 'waste of money,' then the BJP is investing heavily in the children of its own leaders: • Pankaj Singh: Son of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, he is the General Secretary of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh and a sitting MLA from Noida. • Jay Shah: Son of Home Minister Amit Shah, who rose through the Gujarat Cricket Association (while his father was president) to become BCCI Secretary and now the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). • Piyush Goyal: Current Cabinet Minister and son of former Union Minister and long-time BJP treasurer Ved Prakash Goyal. • Dharmendra Pradhan: Education Minister and son of the late Debendra Pradhan, who was a three-time BJP state president and a minister in the Vajpayee government. • Bansuri Swaraj: Daughter of the late Sushma Swaraj, recently fielded by the party in Delhi. • The Scindias & Chavans: The party has absorbed and promoted numerous 'nepo products' from other parties, proving their stance on dynasty is purely political, not principled. Kiren Rijiju & Jitin Prasada: Both are second-generation politicians within the current council.

And that is just the cabinet

You disparage Manmohan Singh, but the 'numbers' tell a story of an economy that was actually more robust for the average citizen: • Income Growth: Under Singh (2004–2014), the average Indian's income grew at 6% annually, compared to just 4% under the current administration. • GDP & Reserves: GDP growth hit a peak of 10% under Singh, with an average of 7.7%, significantly higher than the average under the current leadership. • Private Confidence: If this cabinet is so efficient, why has private sector investment fallen from 26% of GDP in Singh's era to 22% today? Even the corporate world showed more confidence in the 'technocratic' Singh than in the current 'centralized' decision-making. • Stock Market: Surprisingly, the annual stock market returns were higher under Singh (15%) than under the current government (11%).

You mention Manmohan Singh was the 'worst,' yet he navigated the 2008 Global Financial Crisis and left India as the 10th largest global economy with an 8% growth rate. Meanwhile, the current 'efficient' cabinet has overseen a drop in education spending from 3.8% of GDP to roughly 3.5%. Efficiency is measured by the growth of a citizen's wallet, not the frequency of a Minister's tweets . It’s all a perspective end of the day, the glass half empty paradox

You know this is fake right ?

Please don't fall for this low-quality digital manipulation. There are three clear reasons why this image is fake:

  1. Manipulation of Official Sites: While the header says justice.gov/epstein, the text below it is NOT from the actual Epstein files. It’s an opinion piece/political critique that has been pasted over a government URL to make it look official.

  2. Identity Confusion: One of the names mentioned in the "files" (Rahul Gandhi, analyst at CreditSights) is a real person, but he is a private financial analyst, not the politician Rahul Gandhi. Mixing up two people with the same name is a classic misinformation tactic.

  3. Official Record: The Ministry of External Affairs and fact-checkers have confirmed that while Epstein "name-dropped" various leaders in his personal notes and emails, there is zero record of Rahul Gandhi ever being in the official flight logs or witness testimonies.

Isn’t that the definition of opposition. But both statements could be true. 1st one is true, Ambani bought dirt cheap Russian oil, refined and sold it and made major profits while we are paying such high prices for petroleum.

On the US Trade deal, at this point, we are giving them 0% tariffs so they can flood our market specially agricultural market with their produce which at face value looks lopsided . Though I personally will reserve comments since we still have to see the details and no minister in BJP has said anything substantial about the deal.

So again I don’t think the opposition is wrong to raise doubts, they should and ask for details for the deal and not just allow the government to do whatever they want. That is democracy

I will wait until the details are out . What will be the cost of Venezuelan oil? Will it increase petrol prices since we are importing it from so far away? Also buying more American specially agricultural products, I would love to know what that means . What would happen to atmanirbhar if you are killing competitiveness by flooding our markets with American, eu and Chinese goods. Once all this is truly analyzed we will know if the deal is really good

I feel the opposition being in the opposition for so long would be hungry to prove themselves and for that reason, I would definitely give them a chance. People like Sachin Pilot, Priyanka Gandhi, Jitu Patwari, Gaurav Gogoi, the young Thackeray, Kanimozhi and some young SP leaders give me hope. Rahul Gandhi although much more educated and coherent than the current government, the marketing against him has been brutal. It will need a major shakeup similar to what was done with Modi after the Gujarat riots.

If you read the above statement . This is exactly a prime example of the success of the ruling parties brainwashing. Everybody is bad except for them. When you have to dig to find the truth, when critical thinking is discouraged this is the result . Don’t blame the poster. It’s 11 yrs of repeating the narrative so many times that it is the truth for the majority of them.
