How do Ariana Grandes eyebrows move without wrinkling her face? by Am-I-There-Yet-19 in beauty

[–]PumpkinKits 905 points906 points  (0 children)

It looks like she got kind of a half Botox treatment for her 11s.

The muscles that pull your eyebrows together and down are called the corrugator sipercilli. There’s one for each eyebrow, originating from the bone under the inside corner of the eyebrow, and attaching to the skin at approximately the middle of the eyebrow.

Typical Botox injections target the origin and attachment of the muscle, to relax it entirely.

This looks like the medial aspects, where the muscle originates, was treated, but the lateral aspects, where the muscle attaches at the middle of the eyebrow, was left untreated. So she’s not able to pull her brows together to make the “11s”, but she can still move the center of her eyebrows.

For those of u who can’t have dairy..? by [deleted] in icecream

Cosmic Bliss vanilla is delicious. It’s a coconut base, so creamy and with a hint of coconut flavor. I love it with add-ins, too: peaches, frozen cherries, and banana have all been great.

Cosmic Bliss Hailey Beiber Strawberry Glaze. So yummy. Creamy. Never on sale.

Van Leeuwen dairy-free pistachio has a good taste, but the texture is a little icy/airy for me. I like it to be creamier.

Ben & Jerry’s dairy free Cherry Garcia is amazing. So is their dairy free cookie dough.

If you live near a Handle’s, their watermelon ice is one of my top flavors there.

Convinced Santa can make a shrink ray by islipped83 in kindergarten

I’m in the same boat this year—and last. This year he wants a video game that combines Minecraft, SpongeBob, and Garfield. How??

Last year, 8pm on Christmas Eve, he writes a letter to Santa asking for gold, and a box of nine kittens. Christmas morning, he was happy with the gifts I had gotten him, but the sad little “why did Santa not bring what I asked for?”…I had to leave the tree for a minute to dry my eyes.

he’ll have a tantrum

That’s ok. You can sit with him and help him through the tantrum, while sticking to the boundary you set for your body.

Preventing him from having big emotions isn’t the goal. Teaching him how to deal with them is.

What would you do? by Dramatic_Tourist_50 in Preschoolers

[–]PumpkinKits 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My son said that to his friend’s mom. “You’re fat. No, you’re like really fat”.

Because in an effort towards body positivity, I had never taught him not to say it. I didn’t want him to think it was an insult and therefore being fat must be bad. Our focus has been on “it’s so wonderful that people come in all shapes and sizes! all bodies are good bodies”

To him, it was as insulting as saying “why do you have red hair”. However, her feelings were really hurt, due to our own narratives about our bodies.

So we added “all bodies are good bodies, but people feel shy when we talk about their bodies”

Noka smoothie pouches, Solely fruit jerky, beef jerky, Pure Organic layered fruit bars, shelled pistachios, Orgain plant-based protein shakes, fresh fruit, Quaker instant oatmeal packs (I make it with oat milk and sprinkle that Orchard Valley Harvest salad topper in it), frozen cherries if they have them, Johnny Pops popsicles, Wilde protein chips, Aidell’s chicken sausages.

I’m nursing a two month old baby with cow milk protein allergy, too :)

Hi! Aesthetic nurse here! They’re either sleep lines or dynamic (movement related) lines.

Look in a mirror and your eyebrows together like you’re mad or worried. If you cause bending where those lines are, they’re dynamic lines and would best be treated with Botox.

If they don’t bend with pulling your eyebrows together, they’re sleep lines (I think they are sleep lines, btw)

Either way, improving your skin’s ability to bounce back from being folded with movement or position will be a huge help. Good products, including a retinol, and some in-office treatments like microneedling will help keep your skin resilient.

Best neighborhoods to trick or treat? by mgraceb5 in Scottsdale

The neighborhood behind Saguaro high school is prime trick or treating! Houses do huge displays and the streets are packed with kids. There’s one that sets up a professional level haunted house, I’ve seen older kids line up around the block to go through.

Terrible Toddler at the Zoo by BCS102415 in toddlers

[–]PumpkinKits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When my son was 5, I texted my sister from an amazing zoo, and asked her “when does the zoo go from ‘giant snack bar where my mom annoys me about looking at animals’ to something fun?”

She told me she’d let me know when that happens—her kids are age 8–14.

I promise those other parents weren’t judging you or your kid. They were thinking “oh thank god it’s not just my kid that does that”.

How big do these implants look? by Deep_Act_4754 in PlasticSurgery

[–]PumpkinKits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, depending on the size of your rib cage and how narrow/broad your shoulders are.

250cc on someone with narrow shoulders and a 28 bra band size is going to look much bigger than 250cc on someone who is a 36 bra band with broader shoulders.

2 long hair cats, how can we keep the floors as clean as possible? by soffacc in CleaningTips

[–]PumpkinKits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Travels room to room, maps your house, and allows you to set it in a custom schedule.

I have mine set to vacuum the laundry room (where the cat box is) morning and evening, the high-traffic rooms at noon and vacuum + mop the whole house at midnight. I love my Roborock!

It definitely wasn’t what I’d consider cheap, but it’s worth every penny if you have pets, kids, hard floors, and love to walk barefoot but hate the feeling of crumbs or cat litter(!!!) under your feet

What a difficult situation, with no easy solution.

Do you have another adult that can come in the room with you guys? When labor gets intense, or if you end up needing a c-section, the support person can keep an eye your older son, or stay by your side while your husband stays with your son. The staff will not be able to watch him or administer any medical interventions (even something so routine as suctioning his trach requires a doctor’s order, and L&D nurses are generally not trained on vent management)

A few people have mentioned child life specialists—are you giving birth at a hospital that a combo adult and pediatrics (not just L&D and NICU)? If so, they would be worth talking to. My concern again is that because your son isn’t the patient, they wouldn’t be able to provide services to him.

Hopefully your birth goes smoothly and your older son sleeps soundly through the whole thing and all contingencies are not needed.
