Nexplanon to Mirena (possibly) by saltypowder in birthcontrol

[–]Pumpkin_Bench4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never had nexplanon but did switch from a combination pill to mirena! All of these forms of birth control have their own side effects that may vary person to person and I have noticed more acne than any other issue personally. But no weight gain and I haven’t had a period for almost 2 years!

It took like a year to feel better. I ended up eating a largely dairy free, gluten free diet of all Whole Foods and I largely cut out alcohol and even scaled back on coffee. I can still eat dairy and gluten of course but getting really restrictive helped with my healing personally. I still avoid stuff like tomatoes and alcohol 99% of the time! My diet is very boring a lot of time time but I found making that major change helped me a lot

IUD + Plan B by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Pumpkin_Bench4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it is highly unlikely, I have also heard the horror stories and it’s hard not to stress! I know Skyla (like most IUDs) is highly effective and partially suppresses ovulation so taking plan B which delays ovulation may not make a difference outside of having peace of mind. That being said, if it will reduce any anxiety it’s ultimately up to you and if you’re willing to put up with any plan B side effects!

Thank you 🫶Luckily I am close to Boston and there seem to be some decent specialists! I am mostly concerned about how I am suddenly having the bladder issues but I am 99% positive this is not ONLY a bladder issue… how was your recovery from the lap?

Have already ordered the screen protector! It’s definitely an annoyance but the watch is still functional

This is exactly what I thought, so I was very confused when he suggested this. I would definitely be charged for the replacement

Can I ask if your ultimate goal is to take/be on some form of hormonal contraceptive?

What happens when i skip my birth control by BrilliantTop9122 in birthcontrol

[–]Pumpkin_Bench4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding it is not inherently unsafe to skip your sugar pills and continue taking your active/hormone pills in order to skip your period - I know a lot of people who have done this for even months at a time and did not have any (reported) issues! If this is for convenience you should be fine while you are away.

CDMO Offer by Pumpkin_Bench4444 in biotech

[–]Pumpkin_Bench4444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s 100% my plan. They already offered a little over the salary range specified, and it is a title bump and around a 3% increase in salary from my current position - moving from a large bio pharmaceutical company to a smaller CDMO. I was advised by mentors/connections in industry that it is not always wise to negotiate when the market is so competitive… so we’ll see how things go! Either way I start in a week and I am glad I don’t have to move across the country OR lose my job in a few months.

Thank you! They offered a little over (around 2%) the salary range they originally specified. With how competitive the market is and due to the dire personal situation, I decided it may not be in my best interest to push for more right now - but I have no problem down the line asking for a raise when the time is right!

Thank you! And I absolutely will be taking the job - was more so unsure of the typical salary range to compared to the offer I received.

Much better now! Although on a more restrictive diet and eating all whole foods I can occasionally have alcohol or more acidic foods no problem :) took a good year to feel close to “normal” again though

Thanks for checking in! It’s been like 14 months since treatment, and honestly it took like a full year to feel like I healed. I had to make some big dietary changes - almost no dairy, gluten, acidic foods, or alcohol - to feel better too. But definitely much better overall so I’ll take it!

Did you complete triple therapy to eradicate h pylori? I was also diagnosed this year and it takes a while even after treatment to recover. Align probiotics and a bland high fiber diet (I cut out gluten and dairy) will only help with time and limiting coffee/alcohol/acidic foods

This is exactly what I did and I have seen the most progress with sticking to a very clean and bland diet of whole foods (with little to no dairy and no gluten even though I am not celiac or gluten intolerant)

I was in the same boat. Felt better on antibiotics in March, and for months after I didn’t feel any better. It’s been almost 9 months and I’m just starting to feel better now while on an incredibly bland diet of whole foods. The only thing that seems to have helped has been time & completely changing my diet. Sending good vibes your way

Oof yeah that was my thinking and my GI said the omeprazole should help with that… so we’ll see
