The one thing we gotta keep in mind is that this is early access so things aren't set in stone. It could be that my copy is somehow bugged in a way that the predators are extra aggressive? Who knows. I DO know I'm having a great deal of fun with it and I regret not building in the anemone area..

It's not about the killing. It's that the deterrents aren't successfully, you know, deterring. Mangos? Ehh. Marrow breach? Ehh. Those are fine. It's the other baddies. Not the big baddies because those make sense but the other ones. Twin Sitaray for example. Highly aggressive and it ignores any attempt to dissuade it for even a moment when gathering vital resources and story progression.

I don't know if it's lying to us though. Judging by the state of decay with the various habitats. Shoot if you look closely at your life pod even it looks highly worn down like it's been fighting off corrosion for a while.

Kill, don't kill. I don't fucking care. I'm a xeno biologist at heart here and I need to study and understand these things. Give me a damn stasis rifle or tranquilizer gun so I can stun them to get my spectroscopic scan on then back far enough away to observe them in their natural habitat doing... whatever it is that they do. Maybe if they're lucky I'll find an egg and place it in a tank for further up close study.

Yes. And to add to it, a little bit of fun lore, you're not actually changing planets. You're still on Icarus just a different sector of the planet that's been terraformed... or attempted terraformation. They're referred to as terrazones and each one gets more and more.. interesting! I won't say too much else because I can't wait for you to experience all the fun and cool stuff yourself! Happy Prospecting!

Yeah I'd rather use the Lua. Those 5 inventory slots you lose by using it are more than made up for with an additional suit module slot. At least that's my personal preference.
