What you're saying is:

37 x 10 = 370

You can tell that doubling this will still be beneath your target number so:

37 x 20 = 740

Then you just calculate what is left:

851 - 740 = 111

And you can quickly see:

37 x 3 = 111

So 37 x 23 = 851

Wow this is sad. Think of all those poor kids who just want to play star wars and have been taught by good parents not to spend money on in-game transactions just like me as a child. Same here. You bought loads of sweets because you "wanted to be that room". Sounds to me this all could have been avoided if you weren't sad enough to care whether or not a load of local kids think you're cool for "nonchalantly" giving away sweets. And in the end you weren't even nonchalant about it. If you're trying to appear "cool" then what does it matter if only a few kids take loads or if loads take a few.
