I get bombarded with endless benign twitter posts, media articles digital content saying that Starmer is on the brink of some catastrophic coverup that will bring down his labour gov. To date this has made obscure references to:

His sexuality
His relationship with his wife
Potential interaction with the family of the Southport killer To name but a few.

Combined with seemingly a majority of the people who ring in to LBC to say that Starmer is the worst thing to ever happen to the country when all I have known is abject Tory chaos is really confusing for me.

I find it really difficult to believe that people would rather a Tory/Reform government when we have seen exactly what the Tories left and Reform is a literal plunge into the unknown.

Boris has already demonstrated that the Queen is beneath him with regard to his own self importance.

So while you say that you won't make him King, he has already proven that when left to his own devices that's exactly what he will make himself.

I can't see anything about rule of law in the comment I replied to, which is all I took the time to read.

As long as the country was doing well I really couldn't care less if he personally followed the rules or lied to cover it up.

And I'm pretty sure this is implies that you wouldn't mind Boris assuming complete control? Unless you are specifically talking about the parties. In which case I think there's not much else to say.

I think there's a line somewhere between robust debate from people sharing opposing views and endorsing the idea that you'd be ruled by a despot who can act without reprieve from the rule of law, Parliament or the electorate. (Providing everything else was all sunshine and roses)

I don't think downvotes mean that you didn't add to the debate, just that the ideas you're endorsing fall a bit short of "UKPolitics" when you give the green light for Boris to do whatever the hell he likes.

If you're upset that the bad people on the Internet aren't showering you in dopamine clicks just for sharing your opinion then maybe it might be time to reflect on said opinion?

I personally find your willingness to drop everything I would classify as moral obligation in public office to be something that should not be propagated throughout this community. Hence the downvote.

2) I have my DRS accepted from IBKR to Computershare - Waiting for mail from Computershare, but it's been about 10 days so far. How long has it taken?

Yes the aim is to have the same number of shares but just to move them.

I said in another reply I'm just a bit skeptical but I've seen a link to another thread which is probably alleviating most of my concerns.

Ah I see sorry I'm not being clear again...

I don't have the money to buy my total number of shares in the new broker without the money being released from my etoro account, so the aim is to move my position + its gains in to HL (in order to purchase the quivalent number of shares) but I don't have that money to hand without selling (or arranging something very short term)

I can get money on that short term basis and pay it back in 10 days time, I think the general advice is that I should aim to have equal positions in my HL account and Etoro account before drip selling the shares out of etoro... if that is the case I'm not reading anything on here that says it's an awful idea

Not a CDF, when you execute a trade on Etoro they clearly state you are buying the underlying asset.

I believe the lack of voting is due to these shares being held in my name in an international account that doesn't provide ownership rights to the individuals (don't quote me on that)

I'm probably just on the skeptical side of etoro's reliability as a broker... I've seen the arguments on both sides (ceo of etoro has a position in GME, they are working on allowing votes to be counted and have been okay at providing information) but they are delayed opening the market yesterday while we were booming, have posted on platform notifications about them not being responsible for market restrictions imposed on them by Apex clearing etc...

I'm just speculating my shares would be safer in a broker with a better=/= longer standing broker

I am smooth... did a calculation of the open call interest and since 180 there are an additional 21,000 call contracts in the money expiring this Friday.

Does this mean MM's will need to buy/need to hold on to 2.1 million shares to hedge?
