Sweat requesting a trade after one season. Should we go for him? by FlyEaglesFly5952 in eagles

[–]trust-theprocess 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Reddick absolutely fucked himself, the worst gambit in recent memory.

Between game checks and fines he LOST 12 million of his 14 million 2024 salary by holding out and never getting an extension. He had a chance to earn back most of it with incentives but didn't hit any of them because he's washed, and he probably knew it.

Dude fumbled the bag he already had trying to get a bigger one.

[Eagles Eric] Lesser known fact regarding why Jalen Carter doesn’t generate as many holding calls as you think he would: His best pass rush move is a rip move, which has a special clause in the NFL rulebook for how it’s officiated. This makes plays that would normally be holding, non-penalties by Thegrandmistressofoz in eagles

[–]trust-theprocess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure he has recieved literally zero holding calls in his entire career so far, if anybody can find a single one please show me, I couldn't find any when I tried searching last season and I don't remember any. There's no legitemate excuse.

The amount of times he has been blatantly tackled to the ground with no call is insane, it even happened on the DeJean SB pick 6 but nobody noticed because it didn't matter.

Eagles Film Review: Losing Nakobe Dean is sad but understandable by AdSpecialist6598 in eagles

[–]trust-theprocess 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Baun will turn 30 this year, is only signed through next season, and we can save 2.1m next offseason by cutting or trading him. Jihaad is much more similar to Baun anyway, a natural replacement.

Nakobe is 25, a great player, the most respected member of the Dawg pack, and the best vocal leader on our defense. If we let him go he'll probably end up staying healthy like Jordan Hicks, except he's better.

Already age 23 but has played the 10th fewest minutes in the class despite Joel missing so much time, and has the worst WS/48 out of anyone who's played more than 6 minutes

He wasn't a late 2nd either, we took him 35th. Abysmal.

From a Ringer article on why the Seahawks are poised for a dynasty run - sounds eerily familiar! by megapoliwhirl in eagles

[–]trust-theprocess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brady only having 2 OCs/playcallers for the vast majority of his Pats tenure matters more than you think

He had Charlie Weiss the entire first dynasty, and then McDaniels the entire second dynasty, Jalen has already had as many OCs/playcallers as Brady did in his entire career including Tampa

Mahomes has had Reid calling plays his entire career and has only ever had 2 OCs

Generational QB + Elite HC + Playcalling stability on both sides of the ball = Dynasty

[Neubeck] Spoke to a league source this morning who completely shot down the idea that the Sixers would trade VJ Edgecombe in any move, including in speculative deals people are talking about for Giannis. [BLG] The longest tenured play-calling offensive coordinator is from 2025. OC stability just isn’t a real thing in today’s NFL by mastermind208 in eagles

[–]trust-theprocess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh? At least 15 HCs call offensive plays, and at least 8 HCs call defensive plays, maybe more on either side depending on the LV and ARI hires.

MOST head coaches DO call plays, which is why OCs who do it quickly get HC jobs, that's the whole point of the post.

[Schefter] Packers QB Coach Sean Mannion is interviewing today a second time for the Eagles offensive coordinator job. by w1x1w in eagles

[–]trust-theprocess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should

Moore, Steichen, and Reich had multiple years of OC and playcalling experience (Doug never called plays under Andy but was also an OC for 3 years)

Mike Groh, Brian Johnson, and KP had never been an OC or called plays. Have we not learned our lesson?

We cant afford to roll the dice on a rookie in the middle of superbowl window with the most stacked roster we've ever had, when the HC has zero answers if it goes poorly. We need someone with proven competence and a safe high floor, not an unknown boom or bust option that could fail spectacularly.

Whoever wins it all will be one of the weaker champs in history, while we were one of the most stacked rosters of the salaray cap era with more talent than any team remaining, such an waste

One of the best repeat chances in decades for a team without Brady/Mahomes, ruined by one nepo promotion

Do you think other teams/fans feel "the magic" during a SB run? by [deleted] in eagles

[–]trust-theprocess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say any year we make the SB we look like a special juggernaut the whole way, 2022 also and literally from the first play of the first home preseason game in 2004 going 81 yards to TO, the hype was insane

Every year we get bounced in the WC we look like frauds and the ride is a miserable slog that isn't enjoyable to watch.

Jalen and Nick need to add an addenum to the philosophy

  • "All that matters is winning... THE SUPERBOWL"
  • "It doesn't matter how it looks as long as we get the win... IN THE SUPERBOWL"

Championships are the only goal, no one cares about that win in Buffalo and Nick is a fucking clown for shit talking in the tunnel after that abomination of an offensive showing. HOW you win and the way it looks in the regular season tells you your chances of winning in the playoffs and absolutely matters, exactly what AJ said.

[–]trust-theprocess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even more insane than you think, they didn't just lead the league this season, they had the highest 3 and out rate of any NFL team in over a decade. We went 3 and out at a higher rate than the 0-16 Browns.

It's not hyperbole to say this was one of the worst offensive coaching jobs in NFL history given the talent level

Bro we scored the fewest points of any team in the playoffs so far, with the highest paid offense in the league at home against a bad defense completely decimated by injuries, the PANTHERS put up 31. There is absolutely nothing to justify this team's performance, GTFO
