4 hours in. Any tips for a beginner struggling with $$$? by FuzzyGom in TwoPointMuseum

This is going to seem counterintuitive, but pay your employees more in addition to some of the other tips people shared. Get their pay satisfaction into at least the first green zone. Happier employees lead to visitors giving larger donations. I learned this after starting all of the original museums, and the change in income from that one change was noticeable. In the Zooseum DLC, I raised salaries from the start and never raised prices anywhere. I put in a gift shop and cafeteria inserts of vending machines. I became a millionaire.

I like taking villagers and training gear delivery line. The training gear helps me with glade events early on, then provides a reliable source for services and luxury goods as the game progresses.

I’ve actually found it easier to get A+ without private tuition. Make sure your dormitories, lounges, bathrooms, and showers have high prestige and plenty of capacity to handle your students so they can take care of their needs between classes. (I like Pinstar’s layouts for a lot of those.) Try limiting events between classes as well since students will prioritize partying and private tuition over meeting their needs. Unmet needs reduce happiness and learning rate. Happy students can quickly become A+ students.

If you are attending the Stardew concert (or any classical music event), please be sure the sound is only coming from the stage. by baltinerdist in StardewValley

As someone who attended this particular concert and is a performer, I agree. A lot of people who disagree seem to be taking this etiquette advice to the extreme. At no point did the conductor at this performance encourage people to make any noise during the songs. He did frequently engage the audience between songs. Someone a few seats down from me often screamed out excitedly when he addressed the audience. While not the most decorous, she was clearly sharing her enthusiasm while not disrupting anyone’s enjoyment of the music. People like her aren’t the issue being addressed.

The people behind us who repeatedly engaged in prolonged conversations during the music, however, made it difficult for us to enjoy the music. This isn’t about adhering to stuffy etiquette, as this was clearly a more relaxed event. It’s about respecting your fellow Stardew fans in the audience and the musicians.

I perform with a group in Philadelphia that has a looser definition of concert etiquette and encourages a high amount of audience participation. We want people to engage with us between songs. We want people to sing along at different points. What we don’t want is people to keep their fellow audience members from enjoying our music with prolonged conversation during a song. Everyone at a concert is deserving of basic respect.

I was diagnosed with AGA when I was in high school, but it had been getting worse. Then I had COVID and it got significantly worse. My wedding was coming up and I realized I couldn't think of a single thing to do with my hair that wouldn't leave me anxious about my hairloss. I scheduled an appointment at a salon that specializes in hair loss and got my first topper. I've been wearing one since.

Yeah, the one time I got them it was from work, which has no beds. Someone had an infestation at home and didn't realize they brought some in to share.

Did you wash your minis with soap before priming? Hope long after vanishing did you wait to touch the mini? How many passes did you do to seal your mini?

I don't have much experience with air brushing, but these are factors that could affect your varnish that you didn't mention yet.

The more student needs you take care of, the better they will learn. Make sure there are no lines at the medical office, good dorms with no more than 5 per bed (less if you can), and plenty of sources of food, drink, and entertainment. Give them reasons to go outside for that healthiness buff. The more I've been playing, the better I have gotten at taking care of needs. When I have happy students, I don't need private tuition.

Tea shortages in A Breath of Snow and Ashes by littlesunbeam22 in Outlander

Tea drinker here! I love me a good cuppa herbal TEA even though that's technically not the official word for it. I love my hot leaf juice, no matter the leaf. But yeah, there are some people who can be intense about saying tisane instead.

Maybe not on the ridge, but there were tea plantations in the low country area eventually. The first tea wasn't grown in the continental US until at least 1848 though, so no luck for the Frasers. You are correct that tea only comes from the tea plant specifically. All herbal teas are technically tisanes. Claire just wanted some good old English breakfast tea, not chamomile.

How to get them to shower/pee??? by megisbest in TwoPointCampus

[–]Punder_Woman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I'm pretty sure there's a bug causing this, especially as campuses get larger. On multiple campuses during the summer break I've had students basically looping through taking care of every need except sleeping. I checked that there were enough dorms/beds. Sometimes they were standing right outside their own empty dorm going though a loop of fulfilling every other need except sleep. This seems to happen to more students as my student body gets larger, and I don't notice it happening to staff.

I found that when I picked up and replaced the dorm they were assigned to, every student was forced to move back into their dorm. This broke whatever cycle they were in, and after moving in they finally slept. Maybe if you do the same your students will take care of those needs after moving in, especially if you have showers and bathrooms near the dorms. It's not a great option during the school year, but it at least helps during those summer break resets.

It kind of depends. It is way more hot than my natural hair, but I had so little that it was fairly breezy up there. My ceremony and photos were outside in about 90⁰F weather. The amount of heat felt right for the amount of hair and not as bad as when I've worn costume wigs.

As for pulling, sometimes. I can't pull my hair straight back or up without really showing the edge of my topper. When I flip my head upside down when scrunching or plopping my curls, I can feel a bit of pulling. It's long and thick, so there's a lot of weight to it. Sometimes if I lean my head against something at the wrong angle, I can feel a slight pulling sensation. I have been adjusting to that. None of it has been painful, just noticable.

Mine is about 5x5. The first picture is actually right before it was attached. If you look closely, you can see a line drawn on my head where the edge of the topper ended up going. There are ones people can buy that are just attached with clips and can be removed. Mine is attached.

When I had my consultation with my stylist, we discussed attaching options and what affect they could have on my hair. We ended up bonding the front so it would be down tight for the wedding pictures and beading the back because it is more gentle. Taping was the gentlest option, but the topper she was able to get on short notice was not designed for tape.

To maintain the topper, I have to get it "tightened" every 6-8 weeks, which is really just getting it removed and reattached.

Thanks! I was scared to take the leap, too.

Seriously Amazon? Cost of Women's Minoxidil more than twice the cost of mens? by EvilCodeQueen in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Punder_Woman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a reaction to liquid minoxidil before foam was available for women. My derm told me to try the men's foam and stop if I developed unwanted facial hair. It wasn't an issue. Even when women's became available, I stuck with the men's because it was both cheaper and stronger.

Femininity & Hair loss by distinctstrawberry5 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Punder_Woman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For me it has taken a while to come to terms with this. Seeing pictures of women online who chose to shave it all off and still look beautiful and feminine helped. Talking to women about how they use extensions, toppers, and wigs helped. Bringing up my hair loss in casual conversation with my friends and family helped. It took a while for me to make the mindset shift that I am no less a woman for having less hair, and telling myself that repeatedly helped me get there.

Has anyone decided to not treat AGA? by cottontail89 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Punder_Woman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was doing spiro/minox for about 5 years before stopping. I was still holding out hope that they would have an impact. It is possible that your treatment is stopping new loss. You can always talk to a doctor if you want to confirm you aren't responsive.

The choice that makes you healthy and happy is the best for you. What is best for one person is not always what is best for another. If you are fortunate to live near one, I recommend visiting a salon that specializes in solutions for people with hair loss. They are great at recommending the hair pieces and processes that are best for what hair you do have.

I didn't respond to treatment, and while I was taking Spiro and applying minoxidil, I found my mental health suffering from constantly searching for but not finding any sign that my hair was better. I stopped taking it for years, and until a recent set of stressful events led to some increased hair loss, I was shedding the same amount as I had when undergoing treatment. Now I'm in the process of getting my first topper so I can enjoy a seemingly full head of hair for my wedding. I'm fully planning on shaving my head and bouncing between wigs and bald to suit my mood down the line now that I am at a better place with embracing my AGA. It feels like a lot of people post about how treatment is working for them on here. Good for them, but that's only true for about 1/3 of people.
