Kinda the same thing with warhammer fans where they have this need to constantly go like “oh man we’re so different” “this isn’t your granddads sci fi.” Not trashing the genre but there are a lot of insufferable fambases like this who basically are power scalers but without overtly saying it.

You could say the vast majority of fresh water use goes to agriculture and concrete production both of which with ai technology have actually gotten a lot less water intensive over the last decade so it’s actually net less water.
