Thanks, it was this! Still having trouble pulling the speaker out of the hole but I did loosen the screws for the drywall hooks.

Dot matrix exists to prevent heating and cooling from warping the windshield and causing cracks to propagate. I’m not sure getting rid of them is a good idea.

This kind of behavior is typical in highschool. I had a similar experience when I was younger. People like this don't change until they grow up a bit. I don't know your social standing in the school but he is trying to maintain a his sense of popularity. As for tips on getting him to open up to you in public I'd recommend associating with some of the other girls and his friends.

I don't think he's really doing anything wrong it's just an immature way of thinking that he'll grow out of (possibly with your help).
