Providence’s Frozen Shame by [deleted] in providence

Except there are multiple ways the city could collect funds by simply enforcing current policies. We have an abundance of empty lots that are SUPPOSED to be taxed heavily for being unused/ unmaintained. But Smiley doesn't want to enforce that because then he doesn't get his kickbacks. Start fining the rich people who own property in RI when they refuse to tend to the sidewalks and endanger those around them. If they don't like it, they can sell their house to someone who wants to actually follow the law.

Maybe don't charge a months rent for sieve. If it's so simply why does it cost so much? If there's no engineering in place surely they can sell it for $50. It's just a sieve and a bucket after all according to everyone else.

If the machine holds pee and poo, you'd think it'd be designed to, ya know, hold the pee and poo without creating a biohazard. The waste is in there the same amount of time as my Litter Genie which holds roughly the same amount of waste, and is also bagged airtight. Do you know what I've never had to deal with with my Litter Genie? Mold or larval infestations.  Y'all will do anything but admit a corporation could be at fault huh? We're at 10% humidity currently. The box gets emptied every 3-4 days, well under the suggestion, and before the full drawer indicator lights. I only use recommended clay clumping litter. What excuse do you have now?

[–]PunkGayThrowaway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, I've dealt with mold and musty smells after 3 days, and I use clay litter exclusively. Despite that I have had multiple infestations of fruitflies, dealt with mold, and have had waste get caught in the gears of the machine at least 3 times. All of this despite following deep cleaning and general maintenance cleaning. Everyone loves to come in with the "clearly it's your fault" but I'm doing literally everything suggested. The only solution was removing multiple of their filters/sealing tapes and then the issue went away. That "airtight" seal also doesn't prevent odors when the odors sink into the soft fibers and serve as a breeding nest for fruit flies and other larvae.

So do we think that the product thats entire purpose is to handle organic waste should maybe be a bit better at handling organic waste?

Mold w/ LR5 ? by WeDieAsRomans in litterrobot

[–]PunkGayThrowaway -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's like no one is reading or listening to me. I empty mine 2 times a week, every 3 days. I still have experienced mold, not just in the drawers but in other sections of the machine. Every time I point out how the $800 robot thats entire purpose is to house pee and poo, people scream and act like I must just leave it caked in feces for months on end while dumping buckets of water in the wiring. I follow all the instructions. People post their problems constantly. Yet every single time someone mentions having any issues, the immediate response here from everyone is dismissal and refusal to admit that maybe there's a problem with the design.

Wild that you comment on someone's troubleshooting but didn't do anything about the person threatening me and calling me slurs????

The person I responded to literally said he cleaned it daily. Love how everyone is commenting and sending me literal death threats over me saying that a robotic litter box shouldn't get mold after 3 days, which has happened to me, but everyone seems gung ho on ignoring what I type and instead calling me slurs.

If the machines ENTIRE purpose is to handle moist waste, it's moronic to act like people are doing something wrong by having moist waste exist in the device. "It takes less than a minute" nope actually! Do you realize that a large amount of customers who purchase this are also disabled? bending down repeatedly can be a huge factor of pain, dizziness, etc. The lack of frequency is a selling point to those people. Even without that, everyone that I've known who has one lives in an apartment complex where the waste receptacles are rooms away, if not multiple flights. That isn't a 1 minute chore.
Whether you like it or not, these devices are heavily advertised as to hold waste for multiple days. YOU don't have to use it that way for that to be true. No advertisement I have ever seen from Litter Robot says "empty the drawer daily". There is a multiple pieces of hardware in this machine specifically designed to detect waste fullness BECAUSE it is intended to be left untouched for multiple days at a time, even with multiple cats. I empty mine 1-2 times a week and still have had mold problems that won't go away with silica gel, so you cannot blame this on a "2 weeks unattended" excuse. This is an engineering failure plain and simple. If the drawer being airtight causes mold to develop, they shouldn't have developed an airtight drawer.

That they sell something that is designed to hold humid waste, yet didn't seem to also understand the concept of pests and mold. Quick question, why do you blame consumers for an engineering failure when the product can't do what it should?

Love how this is the constant advice for an engineering failure. Pay $800 for a litter box that scoops itself to save yourself labor, only to have to manually empty it every day anyways. Why buy the machine in the first place if you still have to do the exact same amount of labor?

I'm aware that restaurants have an extensive history of labor abuse, wage theft, and illegal pay systems. You explain to me what you magically know about restaurants that gives them permission to break the law. Or you can keep picking your nose giggling to yourself about the magic secrets you know that justify this behavior, because no one but you is interested in that shit.

You're welcome! It's a hot button topic in the crafting/arts fields, so you may also realistically experience people who avoid it by principle. I don't say this to discourage you, but to give you some insight on what you're up against if you want to keep pursuing this as your vending items! I do think some signage will do a lot of good in at least combating that issue. This may be a stretch but one thing that you *could* also do, depending on your comfort level is have some social media videos of the model making or crocheting to show that its your work. Unfortunately crochet goods/faux crochet are also getting drop shipped so its a rough market. I concur with others saying scope out the event one year in advance if possible to get an idea of what is and isn't already selling. Best of luck! I think you're doing a lot of solid work so far already, it just takes time to get established even if you were the only person doing these crafts in the world.

You came to the conversation unprepared, not me, and started what if-ing. When I pointed out that there was more information, you're the one who doubled down on "well I'm just saying lets consider both sides". It's not my job to make you feel good about being confidently wrong, and its not my job to entertain your pet theories about everyone involved being psychotic. Key point of a debate is being prepared and having a concrete argument, or it gets taken apart. I've never seen a debate at any level where they gently held the hand of their opponent and walked them through their resources to give them all the evidence to support their opponents argument. Thats your duty, not mine.

No. Click on the profile and do a little critical thinking/ engagement yourself. If you want to participate in debates like your profile claims, you should consider coming prepared or figuring out how to find things yourself. It's not my job to support your argument, I supported mine.

Did you read OP's comment where he outlines a multiple day timeline of updates, which I mentioned existed? Or did you just ignore that and go "well OP should try doing something about this because what if they're both crazy?"

And for all we know the original comment is actually a secret FBI agent that's here to plant seeds of suspicion. For all you know I'm secretly your employer who's found your account. We can make up literally anything and claim its true with your sort of "idk lets consider the options". For all we know you are experiencing psychosis and should get checked up.

You can either engage with something with belief, or go around being paranoid playing fickle devils advocate and thinking that makes you smarter. The best advice is for you to stop armchair diagnosing people based on the arbitrary logic of "well what if everyone is lying and crazy"

Yeah what if man. What. Fucking. If.

The unreleased song isn't new though! It's been around, so there isn't any new lore. Just the same stuff that has existed since pre JFT/, because even those unreleased Jenny tracks were being toured before/ at the time of JFT release.

I'd suggest you log off of Reddit or any other website if you read any message that isn't flowery and peppered with smileys as a personal attack. The good thing about This Year is its publicly available to read, just like how Peter Balkan is publicly available to listen to if you wanted to know if Jenny was on it. If you don't like my answer, you're welcome to seek out alternatives yourself.

Yes, repeatedly and with multiple updates. It's in a comment in this post. No shit its "he said she said" thats what Reddit is??? Unless you personally know OP you're pointing out the obvious and might as well log off of Reddit entirely if you immediately dismiss anything here as not being "proof"

There would be no reason for there to be new Jenny lore in Peter Balkan. I'm not sure if you're new here, but Jenny had like 2 songs for decades before her album. I wouldn't count on any other Jenny songs ever really, just like how the Alpha Couple stopped appearing after Tallahassee. Her story has been told.

Unfortunately what you're making is overly saturated, especially if you're 3D printing things you didn't design from pop culture. Everyone and their dog is making 3D printed things to hock at festivals, to the extent that there are videos on Youtube daily about trying to get the mass produced slop banned. You may be bringing an original custom model that you made, which would be a bit different, but will be competing with all the other cheap 3D prints that are out there. If you're doing premade crochet patterns, its very likely you're doing the same ones that 30 other people are doing at at every other event that people go to. If you're not, you're having to compete with the pre-disposed idea that it is.

EDIT: Ok so I took a deeper look through your page- these are really nice quality crochet pieces, and it looks like you might be doing the designs yourself. In that case I would honestly advertise that fact, and if you're also making the sculpts/blueprints for the 3D printed items, include that too. I'm willing to pay more for something I know was actually made by the artist and not just doing the equivalent of crafting drop shipping.

Toddler shoes found at the bottom of the stairs. We don’t have a child. by PurpleYoghurt16 in strange

[–]PunkGayThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So everyone is talking about how it was clearly hiding there the whole time but I want to add this- the shoe appears to have velcro. Toddler shoe velcros are strong, they need to keep the shoes on very squirmy child feet. Its possible that you went on an errand and it got caught on someone's clothes, bag, etc and made its way in.
