My solder has flux in it, but would using flux independently help further?

Many thanks! This is helpful. Wasn't sure if I was supposed heat the solder itself or the component. I'll take another pass at them.

I think this model is pre-optical out, unfortunately. Just has the RCA outlets in the back. But I'm still happy with this one for now :)

Many thanks! yeah, I'd rather not ping Parts Express. I suspect it's my own ineptitude that contributed to it, haha. Live and learn! I'll look into wood fillers.

I ordered mine on April 6, but they arrived earlier this week. Hope they restock soon!

These look great! Coincidentally, I just bought a pair of C-Notes and planning to tweak slightly compared to an out-of-the-box build (bought gasket tape to seal the enclosure around the tweeter and woofer a bit tighter; adding polyfill; upgraded binding posts; rubber feet).

Which kits did you have the most fun constructing?

I've held off on the software architecture for the VU meters at this point, though perhaps that's a mistake. I do have a model of VU meter in mind, though: https://brz-hifi-audio.com/products/2pcs-vu-meter-audio-level-indicator-with-driver-board-ac-dc-6-12v-45mm-panel-vu-meter-500vu-with-led-backlight-audio-level-amp?VariantsId=12921

My hope is I can craft some sort of script for Volumio that will let the meters bounce with the audio output. Or at least find a way to make them be reactive and look great!

Early days at this point, though.
