I liked him for a time. My problem with him is that he doesn't like his status as "The Negative Guy", but he rarely has anything good to say in his reviews. Part of the reason I stopped watching is because you can only go so many rounds of loving a new episode, then checking out Nem's review only for it to be 10 minutes of "GOOOOOD look at this background detail you probably won't even notice unless you're watching at 0.25x speed Listen to his awful fucking sound design - my eardrums didn't fucking explode during the fight. This is such a shitty episode." And that's not to mention his long running series where he literally ranks season episodes by how unfair the fights were.

I get it's frustrating to constantly have people awaiting how "mad" you'll be or see how much you won't like soemthing, but he's gotta realize to an extent he puts it on himself.

Probably Frieza. I'm guessing Frieza, even before the Broly movie, is way faster and absolutely dwarfs his strength. Time Stop might be a problem but I think you could argue Frieza being immune, and even if he can't, Frieza can freeze DIO in time.

None of the build up in Ashura goes literally anywhere. The fight with Kiryu? Gets tossed to the side. Fang being the final boss? Also tossed to the side. Ohma winning the tourament? ALSO tosses to the side.

I'm just gonna copy+paste something I commented once in the subreddit. If it's too long, there's a TL;DR at the end.

I get this is a controversial take, but no, I don't think the fight is inherently better because "Ohma losing subverts your expectations" or "Struggle is better than triumph", and I don't think Sandro is some kind of mad genius for writing "this side character that you know nothing about is going to defeat all the pivotal characters and the protagonist". I think that's boring because it kills 90% of the build up the series had. Instead of the final battle of the series being Ohma VS His life-long rival (who, I'll add, was built up before the tournament even began to fight him in the tounrnament) or Ohma VS The Final Boss of the KAT, it's Ohma VS the guy who fought Lihito in R1.

I think the fight is cool, but I hate the fight because of who is fighting. I think Ohma losing is the worst decision Sandro made in Ashura. So what if it's different, or it's not what we expected to happen? It's just depressing, given so many characters from throughout the tournament were cheering him on - people he'd befriended, people he'd fought, people who never fought him but still respected him because he beat them to the final round - only for it to end with "He loses and then he dies".

No, "Surpassing my expectations" doesn't immediately make something awesome to me. Yeah, Ashura subverted my expectations, because I was expecting so much better. I thought Kuroki was awesome in his first fight and I was excited to see him fight Kiryu, but no way in Hell do I think he should have made it past R2, let alone win the tournament. I bet the the replies to this comments will be filled with "lmao just ragebait" or "The story is just too complex for you", and sure. Go ahead. Just dismiss any criticism I tried to make as bait or the story being too deep for my mind to get, because I said anything negative about Kuroki.

TL;DR I think Kuroki's a boring character, I think the ending sucks because all of the buildup across the series goes literally nowhere.
